Still Busy

Two workouts today. I didn't tan today because I am still feeling a little pink from yesterday. It was a lovely 60 degrees today. Bikini season is approaching quickly!

Nothing else exciting to blog about. Sorry.

Workout today: 262 calories burned.
Caloric Intake: about 600 c.
No, I am not starving myself. My stomach just hasn't felt quite right. I am sure this loss of appetite is only temporary.

I am still in a grouchy mood.

Bike Time!

Mitch bought me a new recumbent bike last night. Two workouts down. A million more to go. I used to have a treadmill and other than when I was pregnant or it was yucky outside, I really didn't use it. I prefer to run outside. And I never use treadmills at the gym. In fact, most cardio equipment and I don't get along, but about 8 years ago, I fell IN LOVE with the recumbent bikes at the gym where I worked. So after 8 years of faithfullness, I decided to finally make a commitment!!! It is very similar to the ones at the gym, but it doesn't have the pre-programmed courses. Whoopee. I never used that feature anyway. I wish I could fall in love with the elliptical seeing as how one could get the whole workout done in half the time, but oh my gosh! I nearly died the first time I used it. The recumbent is my kind of exercise. Sit on your butt, listen to your tunes, or watch tv or text...pedal away. I find I can multi-task easier on the recumbent. Hmmmmm.

Anyway, other than that, I am kind of in a pissy mood. All I can say is, with the exception of my workout and my soon to follow hour long shower, I wish I was working another shift.

Calories burned last night: 245
Calories burned today: 240
Calorie intake today: 80 c banana, 35 c drink, 80 c latte, 60 c yogurt for a grand total of : 255! Not good. I am just not hungry today.

March 19, 2008

I am just enjoying the morning. The kids are in school and Mitch is on his way home to see me. I bought some new make-up. Some of that Sheer Cover that you see on the infomercial with Alyssa Milano and Leeza Gibbons. I LOVE it! Something that actually does what it is advertised to do.

I can't believe it is the middle of March. It is raining today. Thankfully my quick trip to Maine was a relatively warm one, considering I was going north. It was good to get back to the land of no snow, though. I don't miss the pothole roads or the snowbanks at all.

Wild Nights

Ha...not really. Just wanted an interesting title. I am at Brian and Hope's tonight. Monique and Dawn were here. Mari, too. It was nice having some extra company on a Tuesday night. It is usually pretty quiet here in the evenings. Just watching some American Idol and texting my loverboy!
You know when you have so much to say but you don't know where to start or how to even get your head wrapped around all the swirling thoughts? Keep that in mind if your perusing this post.

First. They found my father. I saw him for the first time in 7 years on Sunday. Spoke to him on the phone for the first time in 5 years Saturday night. Huge. I can't even begin to describe the emotional roller coaster I am on, but I can talk about the events leading up to this moment.

Saturday morning, I found out that a very good friend of mine died of cancer. She had been fighting it since 2000 if my memory serves me correctly. We have had many special moments thru the years and our lives led us in different directions the last two or three, so there was some strong guilt initially. During one of my moments with the Lord, I asked if she was in Heaven with Him and I expected some consoling and instead my heart got the conviction of a lifetime. Not only that, I heard Him loud and clear for the first time of what would be two times that day. He said to me, "Why do you care? You had an opportunity to share me with her when she was alive and you chose to remain silent. I did not ask you to have a relationship with me on the sole purpose of you living a peaceful little life with me guiding the way...you DO get that peaceful little life of course, but I have picked you to be a light in this world. Don't worry about Tracy. I take care of my own." OUCH!

Later in the day I got a strong urge to pray for my father. I have never never felt so compelled to get down on my knees. I prayed that my kids would be able to see him one more time before he died. I came home from work and my kids said I had a message to call my sister. I called her knowing exactly what she was going to say, expecting the words to come out before they even fell on my ears. They found my father. He had had a stroke and has a tumor on his brain but is home recuperating. I have no idea what the rest of that call consisted of except my sister occasionally asking if I was alright. We hung up, I told the kids to pack, we were going to visit my father. My knees literally gave out on me as I ascended the stairs.

We are home now. Mitch is sleeping after all the driving. The kids are back in school and I will go to work tonight. Like I said, I have so much to say and so many emotions to deal with, I don't know where to start. It is all very overwhelming.

My Week

My week of craziness is about to commence. Noon tomorrow. Ugh! I will manage to cram 62 hours of work in five days, take care of Sierra, Mitch and kids AND maintain sanity! That is my plan and my hope anyway.

We bought three movies yesterday. Into the Wild. Read the book. Loved it. The movie was very good. Not so sure about the random nudity parts. Must have missed that part in the book. Norbit. Not as funny as I hoped. Balls of Fury. Haven't watched yet. Maybe I will get to it while Zach and Mitch are at soccer clinic tonight.

I have lots to blog about but I just haven't had the time to organize my thoughts. The weather is beautiful today. The next two weeks should be a mild 40-50 degrees. Not quite springlike, but it is coming. The birds are here. I here them every morning now. I really do have a lovely bedroom. The doors going onto the balcony let is a lot of sunlight, as do the skylights. Throw in the sound of the ocean, with birds and seagulls and waves and you have heaven on earth.

I am just glad that we only got one "snowstorm" this winter that landed us 2 inches of snow. Easter is soon.

I just want this week over. I will have an enjoyable time because I love my job, but 62 hours takes a lot out of a body. Sometimes you just need time to do absolutely NOTHING! On my days off, I try to cram everything in. Today I am doing nothing and feeling quite guilty about it. Like I SHOULD be cleaning the house. I SHOULD be grocery shopping. I SHOULD already be showered. I SHOULD have gone with Mitch to pick up the kids.

My cell phone is acting all weird today. Taking forever to send text messages. And taking forever for screens to load up.
So i am going to shut it off and start it back up to see if that helps at all. Nope it didn't really help. It is a little faster, I guess.

Lazy Sunday

Another lazy Sunday. I was hoping Mitch and the kids and I would do something fun today but it is already 9:16 AM. Damn daylight savings. Fun as in drive to the Amityville house in Long Island kind of adventurous fun!!! But Mitch is still sleeping next to me and the kids are still asleep in their rooms. By the time we get showered and coffee laden, it will probably be too late to embark on the adventure.

I did not sleep well last night with the darn windstorm. I haven't ventured outside yet to see what damage has been done in the community. We didn't lose power, so I am guessing it just sounded worse than it actually was.

And the Thunder Rolls

We had an awesome thunderstorm this morning. Now it is sunny. Birds are singing. It is 54 degrees and climbing. I saw crocuses growing yesterday when I was out voting. We're changing the clocks on Saturday, right? It is almost Easter. Spring! Spring! Spring!

I am wearing capri pants and flip flops today. God, I am so thankful to be out of Maine! Especially with their record snowfall this season.

Hillary won Rhode Island! Yahoo! I would like to think my vote counted for that win! When you think of the history that could be made with this election, it is incredible. These are amazing times we are in and they will be something to tell our great-grandkids about!!!

I have to go do some grocery shopping and enjoy the spring weather.

Sierra really doesn't like flashes from cameras. She will turn her head if your camera makes a beeping noise.
