Long Day Off

Oh my holy goodness! What a flipping long day! Seriously. Grocery shopping, tanning and nails are done at least, despite the craziness. Tomorrow I'm going to clean, clean, clean. I'm making a shrimp Spanish rice for dinner tonight. Looking forward to a few moments of quiet when the girls take Bella trick or treating. Scratch that. Mitch just texted. He and Zach are on their way home.

We're on season five of Charmed. Only three more seasons to go. Yes, we own all eight. Lucky us. This is Hayley's favorite show.

Happy Halloween!!!

I slept in a little this morning. On my second cup of coffee right now. Slowly getting ready for my day. Getting my nails done and off to get the grocery shopping done. Tanning today too! I wore shorts yesterday and today will be mid-fifties. Better than the snow they woke up to in Maine today! Bahahahahahahaha! I love snow, don't misunderstand me, but I love it during the appropriate times of the year. December and January.

Work is really good right now. One extreme to the next! I hope this new trend lasts.

Today is the big day for Miss Bella! Love baby Halloween costumes! Correction...love cute, furry or fluffy baby Halloween costumes. Bears, puppies, kitties, bunnies, lions, tigers and leopards!

Okay, I've gotta work on the menu for the week and get my grocery shopping list ready.

Couch?

Oh no, I meant BED! I'm bathed. I'm relaxed. Drinking some chamomile green tea. My hair is washed and dried. All I will have to do is curl my hair tomorrow. I can not tell you enough how happy I am to be in the laying down position in my bed. Thank you Jesus! Some days are just better off being over. That is good news. Today will never have to be relived again.

I'm in my nice cozy penguin flannel pajamas. I'm going to catch up on my Bible reading that I've let slide for a couple of days. I'm going to then watch How to Train Your Dragon. I'm sure I will be asleep when Mitch gets home from his soccer game tonight.

10/29/10

Okay, so work is getting remarkably better. I hope this change for the better is permanent and I'm willing to put the past behind us as a team and move forward. I'm also willing to accept my responsibility for my part in this.

Today was extremely busy. I didn't home from work till 4:30. Zach called at 4:44 to be picked up from school. I have to make one more trip out and then I'm done!!! Going to take a bath and put on my pajamas and hop into bed! I woke up at midnight thinking it was close to when I had to get up at 6. I was then awake around two and four and then at 5:40. I do think I fell asleep around 9 pm so I believe I got 6 or 7 hours in anyway, but I'm still exhausted.

I will be enjoying every day off that I have next week. I'm going to get my nails done on Sunday and do my grocery shopping for the week so I can literally vegetate for the next few days. Literally. I may not even get out of bed.

Halloween is a coming! There is a Halloween party at work tonight, which I spent a good portion of my day running errands for and hauling in bags and bags and bags of food, drink, decorations and a gazillion pumpkins. I should be there but I'm serious when I say I have not an ounce of energy left in me.

I'm eating a salad for dinner and drinking some much needed coffee.

I'm so glad to be sitting on my couch right now.

10/28/10

Seems like I write at some point towards the end of the month these next few words...[fill in the month] is over already??? November 1st is Monday. Today it was 80 degrees in areas of the state that I found myself driving in.

Halloween is on Sunday. Can't wait to get some cute pics of Bella all dressed up.

Wednesday, October 27, 2010

Ahhhhhhh!

So glad to be home. Staff meeting was eventful. Never boring, I tell ya! Kayla got dinner together for us this evening. That was a big help. Right now, I'm watching Zach play on the floor with Bella and I'm waiting for my wonderful husband to get home from work. I missed him today!

Happiest

What makes me happiest is that my husband and I are going to enjoy this together. Ultimately, it doesn't matter where we live or if our dishes match (ours do, I just want new ones) as long as we're together. I just happen to relax better when I look around and enjoy my atmosphere. If Im not relaxed I don't want to be in that place. I want our home to be a place of calm and a place we both can't wait to get back to. Pleasant sounds, pleasant scents, pleasant atmosphere. Plus it'll be so great to have the place to ourselves once in awhile. Naked time whenever we want!!!

10/27/10

Odd weather we're having. 70s yesterday, today and tomorrow. Back to the fifties and sixties the rest of the week. Just waiting for the coffee to finish brewing. I'm going to enjoy a few cups before the staff meeting.

Mitch and I spent some time online last night shopping for our future home. We're committed to staying here until Zach graduates June 2012. After that we're looking for luxury accommodations such as a condo. The 903 is looking promising. I tried adding the link but it isnt showing. Check out www.the903.com We just might decide to condo up in this area because I'm already feeling pangs of sadness at the thought of leaving the beach. We are so not interested in maintaining any kind of property (grass, hedges, what have you). Been there done that. I like the idea of a concierge. Not sure exactly what he'll do for me, but all the luxury condos are pushing him.

So by shopping and browsing last night, we're trying to figure out what our style will be for the next home. I am torn a bit. I love modern styles, clean lines, neutrals with pops of red. I also love heavy old world style leather furniture with comfy pieces that stand up to heavy usage. I can easily see myself enjoying both styles. While the modern certainly has more eye appeal, it looks less comfy.

We've picked out our dinnerware. The Mikasa Red Berry collection. We picked out our J.A. Henkels knives. I want Mitch and I to have all new stuff when we embark on our Empty Nest home. We may have picked out our pots and pans. That may wait till it IS just us. Not sure I want others cooking with something that costs so much. If Mitch and I ruin it, that's one thing. The other thing we agreed on is no clutter. We picked out a really cute bakers rack wine storage unit. Not too big and gaudy but will clean up kitchen clutter. It will hold 12 bottles of wine. I also have syrups for coffee on the counter, and it would hold them as well.

The good news is that Kayla and Hayley will be embarking on their own first apartments, so my old stuff will have good homes. We'd like a guest room in the new place. Zach will live on campus but will no doubt visit on breaks. Of course, I hope Mitch and I can have Bella as
often as possible. Really, I just want a "grown up" place. Not necessarily a place for grown ups, but a place that reflects maturity. I want to be able to eat on the good dishes every day with my husband! I want a place the kids look forward to visiting on the holidays. The pool, fitness center and home theater/billiard room/event function room offers plenty of
entertainment and space for birthday parties. Plus it is adjacent to Providence Place Mall. Lots of space without everyone necessarily being underfoot.

Success!

Dinner was quite yummy, if I do say so myself. Looking forward to reading a little tonight with a glass of wine. Waiting for my husband to come home to open it up. Watching some Ghost Whisperer while I'm waiting.

Home!

Gonna pick this place up around here. Baked ham, roasted red potatoes and a green veggie for dinner tonight. Tomorrow night, taco bake, Thursday night, pizza, Friday night fast food, and then the weekend will be upon us again!

Bought lots and lots of Halloween candy. Hopefully some lasts till Sunday!

Tonight I am actually going to enjoy a glass of wine with the knowledge that I can sleep a bit tomorrow. I have a staff meeting at 11. What a gorgeous day in North Kingstown. Foggy here in Narragansett this afternoon. Just the way it goes sometimes this close to the water.

I'm settling in right now with a nice hot cup of mint tea. The girls are watching Charmed. Big surprise! Sierra is sleeping on my feet. I got sad last night thinking that Sierra will be the only dog that loves me so much. When she passes away and we get another, it will never be the same. I don't think you can get this kind of lucky more than once. But today, I'm just enjoying her company.

Cutest Leopard EVER!

I only have a few minutes this morning to blog. I'm going shopping with Janice today.

I already have a good head start on Mitch's birthday presents. I still have a little over two weeks to go. I've completed the first part of the shopping. I will pick up the final present maybe the weekend before his birthday. I don't want it here till then. The other stuff should be delivered via UPS next Friday or so. Love online shopping and free shipping. I can do this for Mitch because I feel mens clothes tend to run true to size. I really need to look at an item in person or even try it on in my case unless it is a repeat item. If I find a shirt I love, I often go back and get many other colors!

Ok I HAVE to shower and get beautiful. My mood will appreciate the effort. I will blog when I get home.

10/25/10

I had a fabulous day at work! Just a nice day all around. 70 degrees right now. Kinda perfect. Just waiting on hubby, dinner, wine and sex! ;)

My hot tub plan is working...now if only my BMW plan worked a little more quickly. Especially if the end of the world is coming in 2012. I'd like to put some MILES on the thing!

10/24/10

I think this husband and wife need a hot tub!

Ahhhhhhh!

We enjoyed a very delicious and filling late lunch/early dinner of homemade chili made with chicken. Topped with cheese, sour cream and fritos! Flipping great!!!! But now I'm drinking some chamomile tea to reduce bloating. I ate too fast and too much.

I took a lovely hot bath and used my lavender and chamomile body wash to wash myself into relaxation. I'm hoping to sleep very well tonight.

We watched MacGruber and Leaves of Grass already. I will put in Robin Hood in a bit. MacGruber had some sophmorish humor that Zach appreciated. Leaves of Grass was kind of Fargo meets Earl. Okay but yet another movie that I had higher hopes for.

Can't believe it is already 5. Where has the day gone? Have I mentioned how much I love my bed? My sheets feel perfect right now. Perfect.

This has been a great day! Watched movies, lounged in bed, got my shopping done for the week.

Not so crazy about the taste of chamomile tea but man it works wonders with the relaxation process. Zach keeps sniffing me. I asked what he was doing and he said, "You smell like my Mom." Noooooooo! Really? What a nut. Apparently I didn't smell like his Mom earlier?

Dirty Deeds

The dirty deed I'm referring to? Grocery shopping for the week. I dragged Zach and Kayla with me. I'm not sure why I dislike people as a species, as much as I do, but I do. My least favorite animal.

I also concluded diet food makes people fat. Look at a person in line who would be considered medically overweight, and notice the lean cuisines and other diet foods, diet soda for instance. Now look at the groceries of a medically underweight or even an average weight individual. They eat what they want.

I have some movies to watch. Robinhood, Leaves of Grass, and MacGruber. I will post reviews later.

Perfect!

I have a perfect husband, just read the last post! I love him. And he will be home tonight!

I have to work on this week's menu and take a trip to the grocery store. Other than that and tanning, I'm relaxing!!! It is going to be in the low 70s the next few days. Nice! I'm going to enjoy this day off. I work 9-2 tomorrow. I'm sure I will enjoy that too. I'll be working with Charlie. Sure to be a fun time.

I'm feeling like I could take a late morning nap but I'm sure that'd screw up my sleep schedule all week. Gotta go work on my menu and grocery list.

Saturday

Thank you God for the life I have today! I was reading some of my archives and while I was more humorous, I am so glad things have settled down. I reaffirmed my belief that my husband is perfect. He is exactly whom I want and need. Not that I doubted that, but sometimes you get comfortable. I'm glad I have my blog archives to remind me of the hell out there. (Almost) four years of bliss. Usually. Except when he makes me mad.

Relief

I actually slept 8 hours right through! I had some music on in the background and shut off the light. No tv even. Closed my eyes and woke up about 7:15. This almost never happens whether my husband is here or not. I needed it because of my lack of sleep on Thursday night. I only got like 3 stressful hours on Thursday.

Paranormal Activity 2 was good. Not as scary as I'd like but really did a good job tying up the end of the last movie and this one. The last 20 minutes or so were great. There were a lot of slow moments though. And those did NOT build anticipation, it just made you wish they'd get on with it already. It was a good time though. I love going to the movies. I don't know why my husband and I don't think of it more often. Maybe because we're exhausted at the end of the day and it is more fun watching movies in our own bed, if you catch my drift!

I've decided to not look at next week as a 52 hour whole, but day by day. Hour by hour if that's what it takes to get me through it!

Gotta get Zach to the high school. He has a football game. Then he's going to the UMaine/URI football game with friends. He's also excited because he got his season basketball tickets. He is URI's biggest fan!

10/22/10

Amazingly enough, work wasn't horrible. Not going to get too relieved or excited yet. The ball will probably drop very soon. But for today, things were good. Sophie bought tickets for me, her and Janice to see the Rockettes!!! Super excited about that.

Tonight I'm going to see Paranormal Activity 2. Excited about that too. I need some cheering up since my husband is gone till Sunday night. I was gone last weekend. I just miss him!

Have I mentioned Bella is the sweetest baby ever? She is very happy today. Lots of exploring and sitting contentedly and playing with her toys or with Sierra. Also lots and lots of babbling.

I already know what I'm getting Mitch for his birthday. So excited for that too!

I'm sure I'm going to sleep tonight. So exhausted. I'd be lying if I said I won't enjoy having all the bed to myself! :) I love stretching out in the whole thing and having the blankets all to myself once in awhile. I will still be happy when Mitch is HOME!

4:52 am

I can't sleep. Can the moon be any brighter, shining into my bedroom? It is almost like daytime out there. I'm exhausted. Didn't fall asleep till well after midnight. Up at 1:30. No idea why. Up again at 4. My hope is that I can get some sleep tonight. First I have to get through the day at work.

Happy 6 Months Bella!!!

Six months ago this morning, I had one of the sweetest moments of my life! The nurse handed over a thumb sucking little beauty. She doesn't suck her thumb anymore but everything still goes in her mouth. Everything.

I am really done with football and soccer season. I won't see Zach till 9:30 tonight and he will likely be in bed. I won't see my husband till Sunday late, and I will likely be in bed. I'm working Monday for Scott and I'm working on Tuesday. Remember the 52 hours I mentioned? In fact, the only day I get off next week is Thursday, and I'm in an inservice! I just need a day with my husband. A day when we can wake up together. Spend the whole day together and go to bed together. I'd actually like a couple of those days in a row, but I will take one at this point.

I'm feeling a little less bleak. Like I thought. Mostly hormonal. I'm currently uploading some pics to the blog from the Maine visit.

Wednesday, October 20, 2010

Blah

Feeling blah right now. I know it is my hormones but blah blah blah me!

The Bella is eating some mashed potatoes right now. She has had rice cereal, bananas, squash, sweet potatoes and now mashed potatoes. No allergies to anything yet. Six months old tomorrow!

I'm just so mopey today. I did clean off the mail/desk organizer. Feel good about that. Threw away anything from 2008-2009. It was very warm today. About 65. Great jeans and sweatshirt kind of day. Right now, I'm enjoying a cup of tea. Relaxing in my room. Trying to ward off cramps.

At least next week I will be so busy with work I won't have time to be mopey. Did I mention 52 hours? I hate this funk. I like being happy. And funk less. It is supposed to rain ALL next week. This week/end will be nice however. I will probably take the kids out to dinner on Friday.

10/20/10

I feel yucky. Crampy. My back hurts. My leather heated seats will be just what the doctor ordered! I'm feeling pretty lazy today.

I had dreams all night long that I quit my job. I would just start to walk out the door and they'd be like you can't leave yet. You just can't walk out. What kind of person are you. So I'd stay, they would do something else shitty and I'd try to leave again. I usually have vivid dreams the few days before and a few days during my period, so I'm chalking the dreams up to that and to my present dissatisfaction with specifically 3 hours of the job and one employee. Yeah, I'm quite specific with whom and what I'm dissatisfied with! Maybe work isn't supposed to be perfect.

All I know is that I'm desperate for a visit to the city. I haven't been for awhile. The summer was WAY too hot for any kind excursion that didn't involve large bodies of water and even then the promise of water wasn't always enough to tempt me away from my air conditioned home. Even though I said I'm desperate for a visit, I wish I could just snap my fingers and get there because even the train ride seems overwhelmingly annoying in my present state of mind!

Gads! It is already 10 am! Friday will be here before I know it. Grrrrrr!

Tuesday, October 19, 2010

It is 4 pm and I'm home, had a hot bath and am already in my pajamas! I feel so relaxed right now. Just waiting for Zach to call to be picked up from practice and I'm going to bed early! So tired of football season. I just want him to come home at a decent time after school instead of dinnertime. So disruptive!

Can't believe Bella will be 6 months old on Thursday. Crazy how quickly time flies. This spring will be the start of some great times! I can't wait to take her to the zoo! And watch her play on the beach. And fly kites in Newport. And run all over Beavertail in Jamestown!

Taco salad tonight for dinner.

I really can't wait till I can put up Christmas decorations! I love Christmastime! I'm going to start Christmas shopping. Bella is really all set so we'll go easy on her this year! Lol! My sister has been so gracious to give us all of Grace and Charlie's baby toys for her and what she didn't have, we've bought. I will probably pick up some special books for her to add to her collection. A Pillow Pet. And one of those push activity walkers because she will be starting the walking process by Christmas. So yeah, that is only like $50 total! Haha! I
don't think we'll go crazy with the kids or each other this year either. Books, movies, movie passes, gift cards maybe, some video games. I could use some new Wii games and another controller. I want one of those Wonder Files. Probably two. Mitch and I will probably just pick out some stuff that we agree on for the kitchen. I want us to have some nicer cooking supplies since we both spend so much time in the kitchen. Nice knives. Nice pots and pans. Like a couple hundred dollars nice. That's about what my last set cost and I got 20 years out of them!

Home!

I actually had a great time in Maine this weekend! There was no rushing. I saw both grandmothers. My parents. Spent some quality time with my niece Gabby. Spent time with my dad's side of the family.

Bella has had her last doctors appointment in Maine! We'll be shopping for a new ped in Rhode Island but she has no more well baby visits till her year old visit anyway. She is 28 inches long and 15 pounds and 13 ounces. The doctor says she is perfectly sized. She is right on target or advanced in several developmental areas, according to him. The nurses love her and one said she wants another baby now because of Bella! She would not feel that way if she lived with little miss drama queen! Anyway, she's been given a clean bill of health and continues to bring her family incredible amounts of pure joy!!! We so love this baby girl!

I am all CPR re-certified. Yippee! Glad that is over. I'm going to run to the grocery store, go tanning and enjoy my life and the rest of this week. 52 hours next week.

Last Day

It has been a nice visit in Maine. The girls and I arrived around 5 Saturday evening. The three of them got to hang out with Gram and Gramp, which they needed. Sunday was a very lazy day. We had lunch at my aunt's house and visited with my grandmother and other various family members. After that, we headed over to my cousin Shawna's gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous new house. I have seen it before, but I LOVE it! So jealous! I can't wait till I have a new kitchen and more space. We were there for Shannon's 23rd birthday!!! Got to see my dad's sister, which rarely happens these days. My niece Gabby woke me up yesterday and said, "I'm spending the whole day with YOU Aunt Jenn!" And YES she did! I also got to spend time with Desaraye and her two kids. So lots and lots of family the last two days.

Today, I'm hanging at the hotel till check out, then Kayla and I will go to Ampersands for lattes and lunch. After that, we'll grab Hayley, and head to my dad's to visit with him and Grandma till the baby's doctor's appointment. After that is Kayla's physical for her CNA class.

And THEN??? Home to my husband and baby boy! Mostly my husband! I miss him like crazy and don't like being away from him.

I'm going to enjoy the rest of the week, trying to get back on schedule. Next week I'm working 52 hours. Grrrrr! November is almost here. By the time Thanksgiving is here, soccer season will finally be over and I get my husband back. Football will be over and I will get my son back. We can hole up for the winter in our cozy house and enjoy some bondage time! (Inside joke).

Okay

The cutest thing ever just happened. The baby just discovered the mirror on her jumperoo. She is laughing hysterically at herself right now!!!

10/15/10

I am so glad this day is over! The day went according to planned for the most part, which is a relief! I spent my hours in bed last night dreaming that I was late for work.

So much for this "big storm". It rained a bit through the overnight but was sunny all day. I'm not sure why we even have weather people. Oh well.

I'm exhausted. That much I know. Not even sure if I will be able to stay awake long enough for a hot bath. Zach has a football game in Smithfield tonight. He won't be home till after 10.

I have really nothing exciting to blog about. The baby has a doctors appointment on Monday. We've been invited to Shawna's for cake and ice cream on Sunday for Shannon's birthday. I'm debating on when I want to head up. I was planning on Saturday because Mitch has a game anyway. That way we would be there on time at Shawna's on Sunday. It'd give my mom a chance to visit with the baby and I'd be able to run out to see my grandmother and actually stop in and see my dad. This is a family only weekend.

10/14/10

My good mood disappeared but I am determined to make the most of this sunny day. We are supposed to get some rain through the overnight but just a few showers tomorrow.

I'm going to work out, tan and pick up J to go to Salve Regina tonight. Pizza night when I get home.

Tomorrow will be a Friday. I will be glad when I can look forward to Fridays again. It will happen! I used to hate Wednesdays, for two years and then I decided to love them. I loved them for a few months and wouldn't you know, THAT was when I got a schedule change!!! Meanwhile, I will be looking into different options, but I just can't beat this job when it comes to pay/flexibility/benefits. Like I've said, if it wasn't for ONE person, this job would be dang near perfect!

Beach!!!

After the staff meeting today, I decided to grab my Bible, my iPod, and my water and head down to the beach. I spent a glorious hour or so reading on the beach, soaking up some warm sun. I could have laid down and taken a nap it was so nice.

The staff meeting was weird. People were oddly "kind" to each other, but in an "Ima gonna talk 'bout you behind your back" kind of way, BUT, word is out we've hired a new person and I think my schedule will be changing for the better! How can it get better than 4 days off??? I might, with a LOT of praying, God's graciousness and a bit of good luck get rid of my Friday shift and make up those hours working with the under 24s. That would be huge in job satisfaction for me!

I'm gonna enjoy a cup of coffee since I can sleep in tomorrow if I have to, but I don't think I will have trouble sleeping with all the fresh beach air I had today. After my coffee, I will head out on my walk. I'm in such a good mood and I'm going to enjoy it while it lasts. Friday will be here before I know it and my good mood will likely go by way of the crapper!

Also had fun planning and daydreaming about a vacation to Italy with my husband. Italy and Greece are filled with so much archeological history on top of everything else they have to offer. I can't wait to eat at a real Italian trattoria and have real wine. And to see Venice via gondola and go to St. Peters and spend time in Rome and Vatican City. And to do it with my best friend in my life? Perfect.

This has been a really nice day.

And We're Back to Wednesday

Good news about the miners in Chile. First one rescued this morning. 68 days! Can't wait to hear their stories. Truly a miracle ending. Thank you God.

Our Disney movies got delivered yesterday!!! Scffww----Bella just typed...sorry for the interruption. We got Brother Bear, Pochahontas, Toy Story 1 and 2, The Brave Little Toaster, Fox and the Hound, and The Aristocats. Next is Beauty and the Beast and The Nightmare Before Christmas. I do own every Disney movie on VHS and will need to get them out of storage and have my brother-in-law transfer to DVD the ones my brother Darren doesn't already have on DVD. Darren can just make copies of the ones he already has. My girls loved their Disney movies when they were little. They still do! The movies certainly bought me time for a longer shower so I could actually SHAVE my legs, or simply time to enjoy my tea. I didn't drink coffee or lattes in those days! I could put The Brave Little Toaster on and Zach would actually sit on the couch and not move the entire time. I saved it for days when I was desperate for a nap but hesitant because he would be up and destroying things the minute my eyes were closed. Or eating an entire package of bologna. Or putting mustard on a plate and eating it with a spoon. I DID feed this kid!

Staff meeting today. Drama, drama, drama.

I have to remember to bring my bag of donation clothes with me. In Rhode Island, we have
numerous drop boxes for clothes. Separate ones for books. I know of four in my town alone. The book one is in N. Kingstown, though. There is also a drop off box in the parking lot at my work. This makes things so convenient and makes me feel good because someone else will benefit from the clothes and/or books.

Tonight we're having American chop suey and Texas cheese toast. Super yummmmmmmy. I did not get myself organized (work folders) like I had planned. It is really hard hitting the print button on my laptop and then having to walk to the printer to pick up the pages. Mind you, the printer is in the living room, where I spend about 75% of my time.

Things did get accomplished yesterday. Went through clothes. Put clothes away. Cleaned my room. The pumpkins got painted. Dishes were done like 3 times yesterday. Movies were brought back. Tanned. I walked/ran. I cooked a yummy dinner.

Today my goal is to just make it through the meeting without quitting. I love how Scott has Take This Job and Shove It as his ringtone.

Some...

...of my favorite mommy blogs haven't been updated in awhile. This makes blog world boring!

So room is clean. My body is clean. The leaves are finally changing. I'm dressed. Shorts and a tank. Yeah, I thought they were gone for winter, too.

I went for my walk/run. Even though I was wearing shorts, it was really too warm for my taste and about mid way through I started feeling pukey. This happens when I lose more water than usual. I was sweating from working out, and then sweating even more from the warmth. I know some people LOVE working out like that. I am not one of those people. I persevered though and am spending some time in recovery mode. Drank 16 ounces. Working on 16 more. Ate a microwave burrito. Feeling much much better and glad that's over! I will go tanning in a bit and get dinner going.

I flipping burned my neck with my curling iron! Hurts big time. It is like touching your neck with a wood burning tool. What? Never done that? Pshhh!

Beautiful!!!

What a beautiful day it has turned out to be! I have the windows open in my room. My room is clean! I went through summer clothes and such that I didn't even unpack this summer and have a big donation bag of those. We're talking the last 10 years or so of summer stuff. My new summer stuff that I actually used all this summer, now has a new winter home in those two drawers, which in turn freed up closet space. Now if only my roommate, that'd be my husband, would take care of his mess. Also, my hamper is actually full of dirty clothes. This is good because usually dirty clothes end up in a pile. If I put them in the hamper in my room, my husband doesn't look IN the hamper when he does laundry, so I keep them on the floor so he doesn't miss them. I am thankful I have a husband that helps with laundry, so I try to be careful with what I bitch about. Hopefully, he looks in the hamper AND gets all the wash clothes in the bathroom.

It was supposed to rain today, so I'm going to thoroughly enjoy this sunny warm fall day! I cleaned out my car on Saturday. Today I'm going to vacuum it out. I lysoled the house real good on Sunday. Gearing up for flu and yucky season. The decorations are up.

I'm going to enjoy my second cup of caramel coffee, read my Bible a bit and then find some new projects to work on in the upcoming days. First on that list will be printing off my October and November calendars for work and reorganize my work folders. I'm also going to mess around with Excel today and come up with something for all of the behavioral data that I'm now responsible for at work. The computer at work doesn't even have anything set up, which was already supposed to be there. It was supposed to be as simple as me just entering numbers. But Nooooooo! I have to now create a whole new system. Thankfully I'm verrrrrry familiar with Excel from my five years working with Rec Sports. Thanks Thad!

Painting is also on the list. Sometimes a new coat of white paint can make e erything better!

I should jump in the shower too, as I already had my pajama day yesterday. While I love pajama days, I think I accomplish more if I've showered and dressed. Did I mention my room is clean?

Another project is doing something with my wardrobe. I have a ton of clothes but nothing to wear. I mean, jeans and t-shirts or jeans and hoodies? Got it covered! Leggings and whatever shirt I happen to throw on? Covered. I don't know exactly what look I'm looking for. Maybe just a new body. I have lots of clothes I love but that I don't always like on me. I have never met a person with so many fat and skinny days in a single month. AND I know I've blogged before about my jean situation. I'm an awkward height. Or at least my legs are an awkward length and I'm picky about shoes and jean length. If I'm wearing flip flops, I like my jeans to cover just the top of my foot. If I'm wearing heels or high heeled boots, I like them to pretty much graze the floor. So I need shorter jeans for flip flop days, fat through skinny, and long jeans for heels, fat through skinny. There are some girls, that I might envy at times, that only own a few pairs of jeans. How can these freaks of nature occur?

Another project will be starting back up on my green smoothie/raw diet. Just for breakfast and lunches. My dinner diet is pretty healthy. My overall diet is pretty darn healthy anyway, but I just want to tweak it a little.

10/12/10

I've slept pretty darn well the last two nights. Sunday night I was falling asleep by 7:30. Slept till 8 the next morning for the most part. Last night, I couldn't fall asleep till after 11 but slept soundly until 7.

The girls and I got our pumpkins painted. So cute. We did My Little Ponies for Bella because my nieces are CRAZY for ponies. Ponies, Zhu Zhu pets (Gabby), American Girl doll and accessories (Gracie).

Tonight for dinner we're having stuffed pork loin chops, squash, and smashed garlic red potatoes.

I need some coffee. I have a few errands to run like usual. Going to get the house spiffed up.

Happy? Columbus Day!

My own personal belief is that we should not have a day celebrating Christopher Columbus, but I am glad to have a day off with my family, so I vote for keeping the holiday but changing the name. How about Founder's Day or something? But how can one "find" something that was never lost. How about Take Over Your Land Day?

Im hoping to have a lazy relaxing pajama day, except for when I go for my walk. I'm also hoping to finally get my house decorated for Halloween/Harvest/Thanksgiving. Halloween is in 20 days. Thanksgiving in like 45 or so, Christmas in like 70. Once again, we're faced with not needing much for Christmas. Mitch and I buy what we want throughout the year, instead of waiting for one day, even though we usually get each other a big present or two on special days, like Valentines, birthdays, anniversary. I guess what I'd like is some NICE items for my kitchen. No Walmart/Target allowed. I'm thinking Crate & Barrel or Pottery Barn. There is a nice T-Fal stock pot at Walmart though, that I want. I want a nice, heavy duty pots and pans set. I've noticed a huge difference in Walmart T-Fal vs. T-Fal from say Macys. One would think being a brand, all items would be the same no matter what store you get it from. I guess it is like the Walmart Levi's vs. the real version or even Converse All Stars vs. Targets One Star by Converse. Semantics really, but like I said, the individual T-Fal frying pan I bought at Walmart two years ago already needs to be replaced, and my T-Fal set from Filene's like 20 years ago, is in better shape than that!

The Great Pumpkin Project of 2010 will begin today, after the house is picked up. Pics will follow as the progress unfolds. Still waiting for my seven Disney movies to be delivered. They were shipped out on Thursday. I doubt they'll get delivered on the holiday, but maybe.

It was nice being able to wear jeans and my Uggs yesterday, if only for a little while. It started out like a crisp Autumn day, but ended up in the seventies by mid-afternoon and I began to regret my clothing decision. I had the heat on driving into the city and the air on driving home!

Success

Kind of. Success shopping anyway. Groceries for the week are done. Rather cheaply I might add. Pumpkins and paint bought for the Great Pumpkin Project 2010. I got some awesome awesome (did I say awesome?) Lucky jeans AND AND AND a Juicy Couture zippered hoodie! Score! I also got another pair of American Eagle jeans because they are one of the few brands of jeans that I love my butt in. Got some cute Gap outfits for Bella. A nice pink manicure.

Just now home though and I am beat! We're slowly getting the living room and kitchen picked up. Kayla is going to make some of her famous chex mix. We getting fit on my Wii and just going to chill out and relax for a bit. I'm going to skip tanning today and I will hopefully get my walk in tonight after dinner or so. BLTs tonight!

Happy 10/10/10!!!

It is a great day to get my nails done! I'm going to spend the day with the girls. Kayla, Hayley and Bella. Mitch and Zach are spending the day together. Team crap then soccer at 1.

My list of things to do today (in no particular order):

Nails
Tanning
Exercise
Pick up dinner groceries
Plan menu
Clean and decorate for Halloween
Paint our pumpkins
Savers
Catch up on some reading
Plan my next few days off

Movie Reviews: we recently watched The (new) Karate Kid, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, and Marmaduke. All were great fun family movies. Sometimes you just want to watch cutesy movies that don't require much thinking. Marmaduke was surprisingly entertaining with a few parts that actually had you laughing out loud. Zach's favorite line, "This is the land of the PUMA!"

Book Review: Kayla recently finished Letters from an Age of Reason by Nora Hague. It is a historical fiction novel bases on the Victorian and Civil War eras. She highly recommends it and I will be reading it next, after I finally finish The Outlander.

Crazy

What an emotional roller coaster work is!

The weather is really nice today, so I am going to take advantage of it. I'm going for my walk and I'm just going to try to put all the yucky thoughts floating around my mind to rest.

Hump Day Already?

My husband would say every day is hump day!

I have a committee meeting today 2-5. Salve Regina University tomorrow with B + J, 2-9. Friday I actually work 7-3. Next week, I have a regular schedule, except for staff meeting. I'm hoping to get back on track with housework and other things. I NEED to clean my car. NEED!! I will hopefully get that task done Saturday or Sunday.

Tonight we will have baked Mac and cheese. Not really feeling more ambitious than that. Last night was a Shake-n-Bake kind of night. Chicken, squash, broccoli and cheese, and stuffing.

Let's see...the weather is rainy. Zach had two football games in three days plus a grueling practice, so when I picked him up after practice last night, he said he thought he'd feel better after a good cry. Then he said, he'd wait till he was in the shower to cry. I could only laugh. Mind you, he'd missed two days of school last week because of strep throat and a horrible headache. His coach played him anyway. So his feeling so crappy is legit, but how many 16 year old football players say they're going to go cry in the shower!

Teething is Exhausting

Escape from the Bumbo!

An action shot! This was her as she flipped herself out of the Bumbo, landing on her tummy. Unfortunately, the momentum kept up and she then banged her head on the floor, leading to a 5+ minute crying jag.

Innocent??

But she LOOKS sweet and innocent doesn't she? She is when she isn't climbing out of her Bumbo! 5 months old and she's escaped twice from it. She doesn't really need it anyway, as she sits quite nicely on her own. She has a high level of activity much like her Uncle Zach had before teenage laziness consumed him!

So Long Serenity

Teething baby in the house! Two teeth came in on the bottom, just waiting for the top two to come through. She is one fussy girl right now! Low fever. Lots of drool. Chewing EVERYTHING! Baby painkillers are working to take the edge off. Just the edge though. Really don't want to use anything like Baby Orajel.

I've really accomplished nothing today but that IS what I set out to do this morning, so I guess I accomplished everything!

Oh the Drama

It is bad enough I have to deal with drama at work. Something entirely different when I DREAM about it! Grrrrrr!!!

Grocery shopping today for a few items. I'm on the schedule for 46 hours this week. It'll be a long week. Going to try and relax as much as I can today. Going for a walk and tanning this afternoon. Other than that, I'm going to just try and not think about work.

Spoke Too Soon

The bitch is back! Seriously hate the fact that all stress regarding my job centers and is caused by one person.

Happy Happy Monday

I have to leave for a two hour in-service in 20 minutes, but that is time enough for a quick post.

My mood has improved greatly since Friday. Not saying that work is less crazy now, but my reaction to the craziness is all I can control. I choose to meet the errr...bull...head-on, so to speak, and despie my anger (more of an annoyance at this point), say, "I know how stressed out you must be with all the crazy hours you've been pulling, what can I do to help? What do you need me to do?"

There is really no love loss between this individual and myself, but when we actually talk, the real her and the real me, we get along and would probably be friends. Like I said, I can't control her bad mood or displeasure with other staff, but I can control my reaction to all of this. I presented my calendar and mentioned it fills up fast with all the things my kids and husband and Maine friends and family want to do, but that I was offering up the month to assist in any way I could. If she needs the night off, she can call. I don't read minds and hate being treated poorly because I didn't know she needs a break. I work with a bunch of over-time hungry people and consequently, they've all burned themselves out. I only wish to be there 30 hours because I could care less about the overtime. Time with my family is worth more than any $ amount. Anyway, I got a thank you out of it. I know myself, sometimes just being asked if you need help is all you really need.

Baby Teeth

Bella cut two teeth yesterday! Very sad in my opinion! I'm not ready for her to grow up. She is cranky today and it feels like some more will be arriving shortly up top. Poor baby.

I've gone for my daily exercise. It is beautiful outside. Just around 70. Sunny. Cloudless. No humidity. No wind. No bugs.

10/2/10

God is GOOD!

This morning, I woke up and an article on Yahoo News caught my eye, regarding 9/11 conspiracy theories, and I will admit to having avoided the quack job theories in the past, lest I seem un-American. I have maintained in the past that Bush used 9/11 to engage in a war on a country not involved with 9/11. That is obvious to most by now. There were zero Iraqis on the planes.

However, today I not only read the article, I read the reader comments and I will admit some are compelling. Fact: the plane that hit the Pentagon was not captured on video. How this tidbit escaped my critical mind is beyond me! Except for the fact that we were overloaded with images of the towers being hit, and were repeatedly talked through the Pentagon attack, that just maybe in my mind, I could see it happen. Hmmmmmm. My question: how could the MOST protected building in the US not have video surveillance?

Fact: We have all seen the wreckage of jetliners before. Peruse (and I'm using the CORRECT definition of the word, which means to look closely, and NOT skim) the wreckage footage. I had an ear-witness who was working outside of the White House on that day, say to me, that he first thought it was a bomb or missile and that it was the loudest thing he ever heard. Hmmmmm. My question: shoulnt the wreckage resemble that of Lockerby(sp)?

Not even going to touch all the amended stories regarding building 7.

I'm not saying I am buying into any of this. I am saying that it would be un-American of me to NOT question our government. My grandfathers fought a war to protect my right to do so. Is it too far-fetched to think that our government could have known about and therefore prevented this? Or that the United States could possibly sacrifice a few for the sake of the United States cause?

One comment that hit me square in the gut was this: Many Germans didn't believe Hitler did what the rest of the world KNOWS he was responsible for.
And we think they're morons because they believe what they're government tells them. Hmmmmmm.

Be an American. Question, investigate, vote, SPEAK, and support your fellow Americans and not necessarily the government. Another comment that made me laugh was: Don't forget your flu shot this year, it is free from the government!

Continue to support our troops. They should not be mistreated for doing their job.

The Worst

The worst day at work EVER. And we all know that my last worst day had me looking for new jobs. I was so close to walking out the door this morning. This is all administrative crap, nothing to do with actual work, although that has been pretty sucky lately too!

I'm not going to rehash it on here because really I've talked it out with fellow employees and we all know I'm in the right. I can be the bigger person and suck it up, while looking for new jobs. Or maybe my husband will let me quit!!! :)

However, trust that the Lord is doing amazing work in me! He kept my mouth quiet this morning and even has been working on some forgiveness issues in my heart. We shall see.

I slept horribly last night so this evening, I'm going to relax and read. I have already taken a relaxing hot bath. Shaved, loofahed, gave myself a pedicure and don't feel the need to do my hair because of the humidity. I am just going to bed anyway.

I came home from such a crappy day to THE sweetest baby in the world. She had big smiles for me and lots of laughs. I love that baby girl so much and she has an amazing way of keeping my whole life in perspective!
