April 13, 2010

So Annabella is due a week from Saturday. The doctor said she was head down and had dropped into position. Locked + loaded as I like to say. Kayla is also dilated a bit. Any seasoned mom (having more than one pregnancy) knows all that means nothing. Some of us have been told the same things and gave birth two weeks later. Some of us were told oh you have plenty of wait yet, only to give birth two hours later! Little Bella will come when God says it is time. It is a unique time for her to be born. My entire family is still reeling from the loss of my grandfather. If anything good can be had from that loss, it is that it has brought us all back together. Little Bella has her entire family waiting for her arrival. My grandfather was so excited about her. My grandmother is still so sad. To others, she appears fine. I can see it in her eyes. She's here because she has to be. I know it takes time. I'm just not sure we'll ever get her back.
Ok this post took an unexpected turn. In other news, I am keeping up with my hour of cardio a day. We're continuing to improve our eating habits. I gave up red meat for Lent. Definitely cutting out all extra or hidden sodium and preservatives. It truly is amazing what the FDA let's you consume after a bit of research. Annabella will be all organic when she's with her Nonny.

After the baby is born, I'll go home. Give Kay a few days, then the following weekend I will pick up her and the baby to bring to RI for a bit. Kay has a few weeks off from work and her class. Plus I want her to rest while she can and help her get AB on a nice schedule. All three of mine slept thru the night. No pacifiers. Zach had a baby blankie. Zach STILL has BB. He sleeps under Zach's pillow. So many grandmothers don't get the opportunity to be so involved. I'm going to enjoy it. Kayla + Mark both feel I'm a great mom and welcome my help! I DO have to admit to having great kids!

Thoughts for Today

I can't stand when people subscribe to the "mommy's boy/daddy's girl" theory. They've clearly never attended any post-secondary child psych courses. By saying that, one is basically accepting that lack of a parental bond based on gender as an expected social norm.

My oldest daughter clearly prefers Mommy over Daddy. Hayley would prefer me as well, other than we are very much alike in attitude and honestly when she was a baby, her dad bore the brunt of the responsibility as Kayla was 17 months and was vocal about needing my attention. Zach has always been equally a mommy and daddy's boy.

I DO know Annabella will be MY girl! :)

April 8, 2010

Grouchy today. I slept well. Not sick. Just grouchy.

Yesterday was glorious outside. Today is chilly to me even though the sun is shining. Next week will be sunny but 60 and 70. I prefer 70 to 80. Summer is close but not quite here. Maybe that's why I'm grouchy. I'm not one with any amount of patience. I want summer and I want it now! I suppose I need to work on that.

Zach had a great golf day yesterday. So happy for him.

I suppose I should clean something. The house is in good shape. It is days like this that I let slide and then it is a disaster again.

Happy Easter!

Laying in the sun on this fine Easter day!

Hope everyone has a happy holiday! Remember He is RISEN! What a beautiful thing! Because of Him, I can be me, only a better more refined version.

Happy Happy April!

Ok so I'm working out on my recumbent bike and blogging on my phone, so excuse any typos or mis-spellings.

Baby shower this weekend. Grandmother's 80th b-day bash with all the fam. Minus Mitch and Zach.

RI made national news with our flooding of the Pawtuxet river. No big deal for us on the coastline. Minimal water but lots of rain. 20 mins north of us and there is about 3 feet of water on the roads. The kids and state employees got a "rain" day. A first foir them.

15 minutes to go on this thing. Then shower, tan and read my Bible. Have to catch up two days. Have the next 6 days off. Yay!
