SOOOOOOOO

What a time at work yesterday!!! 3 hour long staff meeting. Fun actually, though. Charlie, Lisa and Aislean get me going and watch out. I get the giggles much to the chagrin of Dr. Q! :) Good thing I am cute! Bill Q. is our staff psychologist...not to imply that staff need a psychologist, but now that I think about it, if he really KNEW what goes thru my mind somedays, I am sure I would need a behavior plan written up per Bill ASAP!!!

It is in the 80's today in good old RI but not here on the ocean. The breeze blowing off the water is cool because well the ocean is still cool right now.

I am in a great mood, but that is simply because I am having an incredible hair day today. Zach's track meet is today at 4. Not sure how much fun that will be but I will be the good mommy anyway. I worked late last night. Mitch works late tomorrow night. We have the soccer banquet to go to on Saturday.

I can't forget to give Zach my digital to take with him to NYC tomorrow. And spending money. One of us will have to pick him up at school tomorrow night at 11 when the bus gets back. I pick Mitch. Speaking of whom, he is so sick right now. He caught what I had but that is because I kissed him a lot to give it to him! He didn't think it was so bad when I was the one to have it.

April 22,2008

I am going to try to take it easy this week and not take on any more shifts that I have not already been assigned. The weather has been beautiful. I love spring! And Summer. AND FALL!!!

I got my nails done last night. I am going tanning this morning, then to a staff meeting for 3 hours and then to Brian and Hope's for the night. Tomorrow after I pick up the girls from school, we'll try to find Zach's away track meet. He wants us to go. On Thursday, Zach has a class field trip to New York City. I love that we live close enough for NYC day trips! In fact, I just LOVE our location! 1/2 hour from Providence. 2 1/2 hours from NYC. 1 hour or so from Boston. ZERO hours from the ocean!!! Narragansett is more small town than what we're used to even in Maine, but at least we're close to cities.

My cold is getting better. Now I just have a bit of a cough. As yucky as I have felt, I really like how quickly the symptoms seem to come and then leave. I hate the colds where the stuffy nose lasts for days. By the time I am exhausted from dealing with one symptom, I seem to at least get a little relief because it turns into something else. I slept very well last night without the Nyquil, so that is a good sign of health around the corner.

Zach mowed the lawn this weekend. Seems too soon for that kind of stuff. He was also complimented last night by an older lady while I was getting my nails done. Mitch usually sits with me if it isn't too busy, but Zach and the girls usually go off to do their own shopping. Zach stayed around with us because we had dropped the girls off at the mall and anyway, the lady was like, "I have never seen a child, especially a boy, wait around as patiently as you have. You're parents are very lucky." Yes, we are!!!

I have to go shave my legs. It is shorts and the top down weather today.

April 21. 2008

Sick sick sick...I blame it on the soccer game last Wednesday night. The cold air allowed my resistance to go down and the little buggers got in! My kids had this like 3 weeks ago. I really thought I escaped the misery. But nay nay. Started out with a bit of a sore throat...then stuffy and runny nose...now on to severe chest congestion. Two nights of nyquil. I love that stuff. I have been sleeping very very well. Kind of some weird dreams, though. You think you are awake but you really aren't.

I think a long hot shower will do the trick.

My Incredibly Long Week...

...Has now officially come to a close. 60 hours in 4 days. I just took a long refreshing shower and Mitch and Zach are on their way home. Zach and Gramp have banned my mother from attending anymore soccer games! I can just imagine the hooting and rah-hing and cheering going on from her! She WAS captain back in her day!

The girls are coming home tomorrow. I can't wait to have my little family all under one roof again!!! I know how much Sierra has been missing them. Although, she does do pretty well with just me. She is a bit obsessed actually. She would prefer to be with just me but this week I was busy, so she did miss the kids. Unlike good old Kodi girl! Kodi literally would lay on the floor and whine when the girls would spend a few weeks in the Cape.

Anyway, I am exhausted. I have some kind of head cold. My nose is runny and stuffy at the same time. My throat was on fire last night, but today it is a bit better. It could be allergies too since I've ridden with the top down every day this week. Who knows...who cares...I feel like crap. I would feel worse if I didn't have the next two and a half days off.

April 18, 2008

What a long week. I worked the 1st shift and am going in to work the 3rd and I work 1st shift tomorrow, so I am not going to be at home from 8 PM tonight until 5 PM tomorrow. That is fine because the kids are in Maine and Mitch and the soccer team play UMaine tomorrow at Cape Elizabeth High School. Zach is meeting the team there and riding back with them to Rhode Island. He and Mitch will be home tomorrow night, a little after I get home. The girls will be coming home on Sunday. I have Sunday and Monday off and have Wednesday off, too. Those are my usual 3 days off. Plus I usually don't have to be into work until 3 PM Tuesday, so it is really like having 4 days off. However, in the days that I work, I usually cram in 60 hours!!! This next paycheck is going to be HUGE!!! Can't wait!

Today was another 75 degree day. I got out of work yesterday at 3. I went tanning and came home. Mitch and I went for a nice drive with the top down. We road all over Jamestown, which is a bigger island than it looks. We went thru Beavertail which is beautiful.

I Know I Know

I haven't blogged anything of substance in forever. I have been working like 50 and 60 hour weeks for so long that a random 35-40 week feels like part-time!!! We had my grandfather's 80th b-day party this past weekend. The kids are spending the week in Maine. They are on their spring break. Mitch and I have spent way too much money shopping! Our favorite thing to do.

I am actually going to Mitch's soccer game tomorrow night! Instead of work. He thinks I must not be feeling well. I am still reading A Prayer for Owen Meany by John Irving.

I have found some spare moments to work out and work on my tan. I have been able to drive around town the last few weeks with the convertible top down so that is heavenly.

At my grandfather's party, I felt like I had finally "crossed over" from kid to adult. It only took 35 years and 3 children of my own to do it! I am the oldest of all the grandkids and great-grandkids.

The best news of all? This was the right day to work 24 straight hours...I found out today that today was my company's "founder's day" which is the day the company was founded (duh) and every employee gets treated to holiday pay...and for me, most of these hours were overtime anyway. God is GOOD! And so are my bosses! :)
