Sierra Swimming
This was at my grandparent's house tonight. The kids and I took Sierra out for a swim and so Zach could say goodbye to his great-grandparents. He's leaving on Thursday for the summer. :(
This would be where I grew up. This was the first outing I ever went on in my life. Being born in July, I was 3 days old my first time "out to camp"! Now 35 years later, I still like to go out to camp!

Silly Puppy!
She decided to roll around and dry in the grass before we could get a good shot of her!
Sierra & Mommy
Getting her to sit still in the park long enough to pose for a pic is next to impossible!
Butterflies
Butterflies at the lake today. Kayla and I got to Jenkin's Beach at 11 and stayed until 4 PM. After that, we came home and I took a shower and we took Sierra to the river to play.

I can't believe it is June. 1/2 a year gone by already! I've been sitting in the sun for most of the day today. I'll wait for the girls to get home from school and then I'll head to work. I have meetings next week. Super fun.
I got my hair cut last night. Not sure if I blogged about that yesterday or not. 2 inches off. It looks good and healthy again, even though I really loved it long. It is just hard on my ends when it is that length and I hate obsessing over split ends. My favorite girl cut it last night. Jill (the other girl) is nice too, but she always takes off way more than I want. They are both going to Laconia for Bike Week and they knew that Brian and I had been, so they were asking me all about it. I can't wait to hear their stories when they get back. I had some funny ones that will last me a lifetime and I am sure the same will happen for them!
Okay, gotta go get back in the sun!

Another long day at work. I got a lot of work done today. The packet that was supposed to be mailed out today actually got mailed out today. I woke up this morning to no internet again, so the day started out on a wrong note, but I got everything done and I'm back online...Thank you Jim! :)

Today was such a long day at work! I'm glad it is behind me. Lots of paperwork. Don't want to think about it, don't want to blog about it!
In better news, Zach is loving his motorcycle. He is so cute on it! 10 more days with my baby.
I'm looking forward to Friday night. Going out with some friends. Saturday and Sunday, I'll be taking the kids to Jenkin's Beach. That should be fun.
We're having spaghetti and garlic bread tonight for supper. Zach and I are watching War of the Worlds. I'm trying to unwind from my day. It would have been way too easy just to crawl into bed right now. I am trying to keep a semblance of regularity to my schedule...which means no bed until at least 9 PM...okay, maybe 8:30.
I want to finish my book tonight. Jamie and I have a busy day at work tomorrow.
I hope everyone is having a good Monday.

Hot Day!
My sweet little boy was so hot. We were on our way to the lake so Zachie could take a swim.
I Just LOVE My Purse!
My Valentine's present! I just love it, love it, love it! Now if I could just do something about my fat arms!!!
Ahhhhh...Pocket Bike!
That is what Zachary has. A pocket bike. 2-stroke engine. 40 mph. I was checking out some dirtbikes, too. Maybe next year. Like I said, he's having a ball on this one right now.
I think I just broke my shift key. I took it off because it was not working right and sometimes dust and stuff gets behind the keys. Now I can't figure out how to get the dang thing back on! Okay, I may have fixed it. Now it is really working. Better than the rest of the keys! ;) Figures!!!
I have 11 days left with Zach. Another long summer without him.
But the girls and Mitch and I are excited about the 4th in Boston! That is coming right up!

Yay!!!
I fixed my internet connection!!! I am not sure what I did to fix it, as I was just messing around. But YAY!!!!
I have pictures of Zach on his new 'motorcycle'! He loves it. It looks like a full-size bike, just in miniature. Not a dirt-bike. Not a runt bike. Not so sure what to call it. I'll post pics later. He's having a ball. Mitch fixed it so it runs great. He's been up since Wednesday. He just left today. :(
I'm not really feeling much like blogging right this second, so I will update more thoroughly later!

One of Those Days
Ever have one of those days? Looks normal, till you look more closely...sweet boy got a little (okay a LOT) red, playing in the water ALL day, and had to borrow his sister's Coach sunglasses that he broke that morning, because his eyes were a little sore from the salt water and the glare of the sun off of the ocean. She bought a new pair at the beach that day and was kind enough to lend him her broken pair. He looked so pathetic.
Seagull
This would be the seagull that kept swooping down to steal our bread. I love this pic. I was going to zoom in, to see the bird, but I like the chair to the left...
13 Year Old
I have taken this shot every summer since he was about 4 or 5...this is the 13 year old version! :)
Kayla & Shannon
An early early morning for Kayla and Shannon...about 6 AM in the morning in the bathrooms, getting dressed for the beach.

Stressing Out!!
I am taking the kids to Old Orchard tonight and tomorrow. We are spending tonight to spend all day and early evening there tomorrow. I'm stressing with getting everything packed. Two people in the tent. Two people can sleep in the back of my truck because I have a cap. Early morning at the beach. Hopefully catch a sunrise. Tomorrow won't be as hot and humid today. Today was 95. Tomorrow it should be in the 80s.
I hope everyone has a great holiday weekend! I'll catch up soon!

Work was fun tonight. Jamie is working at the center until the end of the summer, like me. I knew her before from when her son Jordan was a baby at the daycare. He's a handsome 2 year old boy now! Allison worked tonight, also. She brought some yummy snacks and it was good to hang out with her, too.
Eric, I just got your IM today. Not sure when you sent it? My schedule is 8-4:30 at Department of Health & Welfare Monday and Friday. Tuesday and Thursday, I am at the center 2-8 PM. Wednesday and weekends off.
The weather is going to be beautiful the rest of this week and Saturday is looking perfect. Wanted to get the kids to Old Orchard, but we might be going out to camp instead. My grandfather had a mild stroke about 2 weeks ago and I want Zach to spend some time with him in case something happens while Zach is in Virginia all summer.

WTF???
An appropriately titled picture taken by my photographer son. I was looking through the drawer for my sharp specialty knife...my very expensive sharp specialty knife...Zach was smart enough to be taking this picture from OUTSIDE the house!

Hailey Update
I know I haven't updated people on sweet little Hailey in a long time. I've been keeping up with them of course, but have been lazy about reporting the news. So for all of you prayer warriors out there, here is the latest from Hailey's mommy, Dena. She says it all perfectly.
"i have so much to say and i have no idea where to begin. you know that feeling you get when your at church and you know for a fact that God has laid this message on the preachers heart for you to hear?? well that happened yesterday, Bryan was out sick, please pray for a speedy recovery for him while he battles strep throat, and so due to his sickness we had another man from katy Bible church there to fill in, and i dont even rember his name but he preached on Job, i know you know the story of Job we all do, but the words he peppered his sermon with where incredible, i know i will butcher this up and for that i am sorry but i will try to relay some of it for you, when we praise God through our pain we are only adding to His glory, sounds easy enough huh? we have a bad day, we thank God,we loose a job, we thank God, we go through a divorce we praise God .....when He sends us the person He originally created for us we really praise HIM =), now. we lose a child? we lose ten children, we lose the mind of a child that we love, do we still remeber to praise God? yes we should, it is through the hardest of these times, the sufficating pain that these bring that we give Him the praise, one because we trust His will, and two we add to the Glory of Him, we dont know that on December 25, 2006 satan wasnt standing at the throne of God betting on how we would act in this crises, do we? so how do we act? we praise Him and thank Him for choosing us , for choosing Hailey Anslow and this carepage to show soo many people what He can do, He has done everything "man" has told us couldnt be done with hailey, in those first hours we were told she would die within the night, then after more testing of her blood we were told that due to the sugar in her blood caused by the lack of oxygen her organs would shut down with in 72 hours, after the 72 hour period and the first MRI was done they said IF she survives she will be a vegtable, only able to blink, and have a heartbeat and will be on a ventilator for the rest of her life, ok a week goes by and another MRI , this time they say she wont walk again or use her hands, let me fast forward and tell you SOME of the things she can do now, she can walk, she can talk she can laugh she can feed her self, she can express her needs to us, she can play hide and go seek, she is on an age appropriate level on some of her speech testings, she can pick a darn sprinkle off of an iced donut, now that is FINE motor skill, she knows her brothers and sisters names, she knows to "kill em" when it comes to bugs and lizards, i could go on and on, but i'm limited to one hour on the carepage and it will erase what all i have written allready, when Jesus's close friend Lazarus died, in John 11, you see that He waited 4 days to go to him, now i learned yesterday that back then they thought that the spirit remained hovering over the body for 3 days after someone died, so by Jesus waiting 4 days to go to His friends tomb, He was purposely allowing "man" to say "it cant happen" that way when it did there was only one explaination of the miracle that took place when He called Lazarus to life again, and i know that i myself have prayed for Him to come and call Hailey up and restore her, but i know now that He is purposely waiting to hear man tell us it cant happen for Him to everyday show the world that it is happening, and what a celebration this calls for, please please please take the time everyday to Thank Him for what He has not only done in Haileys life but also in your own, add to His glory by your worship, ok i hope you got the point that was preached yesterday i really do it was great and an eye opener for myself, thank you Lord and thank you friends, dena"

C.S. Lewis
I've read this book a hundred times...I can't believe it can still take my breath away.
Mere Christianity, book 4 chapter 8
by C.S. Lewis "The First Job" c. 1943
The real problem of the Christian life comes where people do not usually look for it. It comes the very moment you wake up each morning. All your wishes and hopes for the day rush at you like wild animals. And the first job each morning consists simply in shoving them all back; in listening to that other voice, taking that other point of view, letting that other larger, stronger, quieter life come flowing in. And so on, all day. Standing back from all your natural fussings and frettings; coming in out of the wind.
We can only do it for moments at first. But from those moments the new sort of life will be spreading through our system: because now we are letting Him work at the right part of us. It is the difference between paint, which is merely laid on the surface, and a dye or stain which soaks right through. He never talked vague, idealistic gas. When He said, "Be perfect," He meant it. He meant that we must go in for the full treatment. It is hard; but the sort of compromise we are all hankering after is harder--in fact, it is impossible. It may be hard for an egg to turn into a bird: it would be a jolly sight harder for it to learn to fly while remaining an egg. We are like eggs at present. And you cannot go on indefinitely being just an ordinary, decent egg. We must be hatched or go bad....
This is the whole of Christianity. There is nothing else. It is so easy to get muddled about that. It is easy to think that the Church has a lot of different objects--education, building, missions, holding services. Just as it is easy to think the State has a lot of different objects--military, political, economic, and what not. But in a way things are much simpler than that. The State exists simply to promote and to protect the ordinary happiness of human beings in this life. A husband and wife chatting over a fire, a couple of friends having a game of darts in a pub, a man reading a book in his own room or digging in his own garden--that is what the State is there for....
In the same way the Church exists for nothing else but to draw men into Christ, to make them little Christs. If they are not doing that, all the cathedrals, clergy, missions, sermons, even the Bible itself, are simply a waste of time. God became Man for no other purpose. It is even doubtful, you know, whether the whole universe was created for any other purpose. ~ C.S. Lewis

May 20, 2007
I am in a super cranky mood today. I think it is all the cloudy/rainy days we've had in a row. I need some sun.
Work will be interesting tomorrow. I am dreading it completely. Hopefully at least they will have my computer and phone all set up for me in my new office.
I am also sending out resumes for teaching jobs. Now is the time to do it to get a job for the 2007-08 school year. I kind of wish it were 2008 now and I was just finishing up the school year and getting ready for a summer off! I have to admit one of my favorite perks of teaching is the vacation package!
Today, I am going to read. Write in my journal. Maybe work on some of my novel. I haven't felt terribly motivated in that regard. I was hoping to get to Old Orchard this next weekend, but it looks like while it will be very warm, it will be very full of showers.
Ah well, life is interesting and it is all in the Lord's hands. Cranky moods or not. I am in the mood to go hiking today with the kids and the dog, but I am thinking that being on top of a mountain with possible thunderstorms isn't the best idea. Plus it is kind of late in the day. I wish I had thought of it before noon. It will take an hour to get to Camden if we want to hike Mt. Battie and only a half hour or so to get to Chick Hill. That is a good hike, but there are lots of bears because there are lots of caves.
Sierra (a very curious pitbull) + Bears = a very possible sticky wicket
Thankfully they are of the black bear variety and scare very easily, but if Sierra gets curious about any baby bears it could lead to, like I said, the strong likelyhood that a catastophic result will ensue. The reason there are so many bears in that area is because it is surrounded by blueberry barrens, not to mention there are several bear hunting guides located nearby. I am not sure if they are still allowed to bear bait or not, but I am guessing so, and bears are stupid enough to continue to go to where the food supply is even if they see their little bear friends succumb to an untimely death by a "hunter"...I'm not so sure what hunting has to do with putting some food down and waiting for a bear to come to them. The word hunting implies that one has to actually put effort into the act of HUNTING. I come from a long line of hunters and one of the things that I admired the most about my grandfather in this regard, is his skill and ability to use a bow. But I digress. Certainly not something I want to get into. Everyone has their own opinion. The fact remains that some families in rural Maine still very much rely on venison or bear or moose as a food source and to those families, I commend them on providing for their own.

Saturday Afternoon Update...
...or SAU as I like to call it.
This has been a long Saturday. It feels like it should be bedtime right now. I'm looking forward to enjoying a glass of wine before bed. Usually Mitch and I'll finish the bottle but this time we did not. We got sidetracked after making dinner! =) Instead of the usual Merlot, we got Pinot, as it was "adventure" night...hence the reason we got sidetracked! We enjoyed the Pinot...and the getting sidetracked too, of course.
I've been online just about all day and now I feel as if I have to do something useful...like read one of my thousands of books OR get some writing done.
Zach has been riding his new bike with his friend Dakota all day. Except for when the boys were inside playing their video games. Hayley is at Shannon's. She and Sarah went to see Shrek 3 last night and she just called to tell me all about it. Kayla and I are enjoying our iced lattes and (very soon) some yummy taco salad.
I have GOT to get my nails done this week and my hair trimmed. I think I'll get them painted white one more time and then we'll go red for most of the summer!

The week has been hectic and crazy. Hayley went to the Three Days Grace concert with Devon and had a great time. Mitch was here all week so that was nice. I went to a "toy" party last night at Stacey's. It was good to hang out with her, Chelsea and Kassie and the rest of the girls. I bought some fun stuff for Mitch! =) Kassie and I will be doing lunch next week. I am also hanging out with Lynette on Wednesday!!! YAY!!! It will be so good to catch up. I was also worried about what I'd do with Mitch while I was with Lynette in Ellsworth, but he won't be here until Wednesday night this week, so looks like I don't have to worry at all. Of course, I want him to meet Nettie and all of that, but we need some time just us because it has been so long. The baby will be with us, though. I can't wait! Peyton is absolutely adorable!!!
Work was interesting on Friday. Hopefully things change for the better. Soon. Ah well, I only have 3 more months there and then on to teaching middle/high school English.
This recent rainy weather is really getting to me. I'm in the mood to go spend the afternoon at Border's but I'm afraid I'll spend too much money there! I can always read at the house even though it is just too easy to get distracted here.
I need to figure out what I'm having for supper tonight. I think the kids want chicken and dumplings. It is a nice rainy day, so that sounds good.
Oh yeah, and I just found out the preschool I used to work for closed. Just closed. Jessy came to work and gave everyone (teachers and parents) two weeks to find alternate care and work. Big surprise for me, I guess. I'm definitely going to stop by Jessy's house next week and find out the scoop.
Alrighty, I have to go to Hannafords and run some errands. Oh lucky day. I already got my latte and went tanning.
Current Mood: tired of rain
Current Music: some good old Alanis

Soooo the women's retreat was a blast, as always. At times emotional, but then again, you get about 250 women together for 3 days and it is bound to be emotional!!!
It was good to get away and do some thinking. About life, relationships, work and kids...Debbi Bryson is a little powerhouse! She is SOOOO cute! AND it is always a pleasure to spend time with Sherri Youngward. I love her cd's. She has the most beautiful voice ever and her songs never fail to take me where I need to be spiritually and that is kneeling at His feet.
Debi and I had a ball! I am pretty sure Allison had a great time until the last day. That is her story, though. You'll have to read about it in her blog.
A lot of cute stuff happened and I'll try to get it all down...eventually. I'll start with one little story today. Sooo the big message of the retreat was about brokeness and about how God is supposed to glue us back together, but so often, we glue ourselves back together, in my case especially, and God has really been laying on my heart about running the right race...which is kind of profound in itself, because when I am running, that is my most favorite time with the Lord...anyway, I got hit with that message twice Saturday, in two separate books..."Remember that in a race everyone runs, but only one person gets the prize. You also must run in such a way that you will win." 1 Corinthians 9:24 and then again with this one "therefore, since we are surrounded by such a crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily hindrs our progress. And let us RUN with endurance the RACE THAT GOD HAS SET before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, on whom our faith depends from start to finish." Hebrews 12:1-2.
Okay, so my morning prayer yesterday was "Please Lord show me the ways I am not running the right race" and because I was half-asleep still and I have a bit of ADD, my mind started wandering like it often does, and my thoughts went to my dishes...my daughter had broken one of my daisy dinner plates, so now I don't have a complete set and I was thinking about how all of my 30ish friends have new houses and complete sets of china and I'm sure full sets of Tupperware...I used to have the complete set of Tupperware, but my kids have left them on the school bus and on field trips and neighbors have some of them with leftover pie or cookies or whathaveyou...and praise the Lord, HE stopped me in my tracks and with His quiet, still voice, He says, "Jenn, is THAT the race you want to win?"
Nah, no Tupperware race for me!!!

In our beautiful hotel room in Bar Harbor...that would be the very cold Atlantic Ocean off our balcony.
The women's retreat was awesome. I had such a great time!

It's been a nice beautiful spring day...finally! The whole week is looking great. Sunny and 70s and 80s...I'll take it!
I ran three miles yesterday. Getting ready to go run three more. It is my favorite way to relax in the spring/summer/fall...to run in the evenings when the sun is setting.
The boys (Zach & Dakota) played baseball while I ran and when I was finished, I sat in the dugout and watched them play for awhile. After that, we went to Subway and they played in the game room for about an hour. Prior to all that fun, the kids and I went to Adam and Julie's for Lexi's birthday party.
Tomorrow I am going to sleep in and spend some time outside laying in the sun, catching up on my reading.

Ramble Ramble
I had a bit of a reminder yesterday of how quickly things can go from near perfection to complete chaos. Details aren't as important as the lesson and reminder to not take things for granted.
My relationship with God is the most important thing in my life. Pride is still my biggest obstacle. It is amazing how quickly things can spin out of control and to think I used to LIVE MY LIFE LIKE THAT! It starts simple, like I will skip a day reading the Bible, I'll postpone my conversation with God that He's invited me to have, I'll soon be going through old memories of past hurts and before you know it, I am right back to where I thought I'd never be again.
Being humble is a tricky thing, the minute you acknowledge that you are, you're not, and when you admit to your faults, you are again...
I needed this reminder of how so not in control I am over the big plan and how I so desperately need Him. I needed to see how ugly I could become without Him again. It was different before becoming Christian, because I didn't know the difference He could make in me and in my life...even skirting the edges of that previous life is a disgusting reminder of how materialistic, prideful, selfish and unloving I can be.
Anyway, it is a quiet Saturday here. Tanya, thanks for your call today. You really helped me clarify some things and Mitch would like to thank you and tell you that you are his most favorite of all of my friends! =) He loves what you said about B. Love you!!!

The kids and I have our annual Spring clean-up this weekend. Fun, fun! I'm sure I'll break some nails! The good news is that that means we're one step closer to beach weekends! Also one step closer to Zach being gone for the summer! :(
Mitch brought his yearbook and all the paper clippings that his mom had saved. We had fun going thru all of that. He even had a picture for Zach of Mitch and Zach's dad. They both had won the same soccer award that year. He also brought a letter he had written himself when he was younger to be put in a time capsule at school. The kids opened the capsule when they graduated high school. I promised I wouldn't make fun of his favorite song that year...(Stevie Wonder's Part-time Lover)...too cute!
I am very glad it is Friday. It is supposed to rain all next weekend...of course, because that is when I'm in Bar Harbor for the weekend for the women's retreat.

May 1st
Happy May Day! I had a nice quiet morning and afternoon. I slept in and cleaned up the house, after getting my latte and going tanning. I just got to work and I am enjoying the quiet before all of the kids get here.
Mitch will be here tomorrow. We're going tanning and I have to get my nails filled. Church tomorrow night.
I have to run to Target after work to pick up stuff I've run out of. I am so happy that I got all of my housework done today so I don't have to do anything but enjoy myself for the next two days.
Zachie's birthday is the 12th. The women's retreat is the 10th-12th. I'll be home the afternoon of the 12th, in plenty of time for Mr. Man's 13th birthday. I also have a conference in Augusta that I have to be at on the 10th all day. Thankfully we don't have to check in until late afternoon for the women's retreat. It should be a great time. I am also going to a party at Stacey's house on the 18th. Lexi's birthday party is this Saturday. May is always a busy month.
Hopefully I'll get a chance to catch everyone up on Friday.

No Time
No time to update lately. Work and planning for my next career step has me stressed a little. I found a GREAT job...of course location is key. I wish to remain stateside! I have non-competitive federal employee status for a year, so I am looking for some kind of government work. I also had to have the brakes fixed on the truck and fell down my stairs. So I've been nursing some pretty sore muscles. I had a very bad cold all weekend and ended up sleeping 16 hours Saturday.
Mitch was here all last week, so that was a nice change.
As some of you know, there has been a missing 3 year old in our state and the police are suspecting that she drowned in the local river and they just haven't turned up her body yet. Anyway, it is sad and tragic and DHHS has removed the mother's two other children. This is not the first time this child has wandered off...HOWEVER...there is always a however...WHY was it important in regards to the most recent newspaper article, to mention that the mother has three children by three different fathers? What exactly does this have to do with the story? The whole thing is tragic enough, and regardless of the mother's parenting skills or lack of, what use is it to continue to fuel public opinion of the mom? As an English teacher and English major, I would appreciate facts pertaining to the story and not gossip pertaining to stereotypical nonsensical data. Anyway, my prayers are with this little girl AND her family, who I imagine are distraught and devastated.
I'm having lunch with Allison. Just waiting for her to get here.
I should get a chance to blog tomorrow too! Two times in the same week! Remember the days? Oh yeah, Will where did your blog go?

Friday
The weather is beautiful! Spring is finally here! I will be laying in the sun all weekend and on Monday.
Mitch went tanning with me on Thursday and got sooooo sunburned! :(
We went over to David and Karen's last night and visitefd for a bit. He went to high school with both of them, so it was a good time. Of course, I completely enjoyed catching up with Bailey-Boo. Jessy had her baby. A beautiful little girl. We'll probably stop in and visit them soon.
Zach is supposed to be back tonight and Kayla will be back sometime this weekend. Mitch will be back on Monday. I'm not sure what I'm doing tonight. Zach hasn't called yet so I kind of have to stick around close to home. Today is payday! Yay! I have bills to go pay.
Talk to you all on Tuesday.

Tuesday Night
Tuesday is always the longest! It is the day before Mitch gets here. The day is always especially long for both of us.
We've had a ton of rain the last few days. At least we didn't lose our power! A lot of places did, but ours stayed on. It's been pretty windy with all of the rain. When I took the dog outside today, I noticed a lot of branches littering my backyard. That will be a pain during spring clean up! The rate we're going, it'll be summer clean-up.
Zach is in New Hampshire for the week. Kayla is in Rhode Island with friends. Hayley is with her dad.
We have church tomorrow night and then we're eating in. Mitch is cooking for me tomorrow night! Awwwwww!!! He is so sweet!

Hi Everyone!
I hope everyone had a fantastic Easter! I had an extremely busy weekend! A concert at church Saturday night and church in the morning. Went home and cooked a yummy Easter dinner for the kiddos and then back to church Easter night!
My honey is finally home! He was very glad to have his little trip over and done with, even though he had fun. He'll be here tomorrow and we'll have a fun-filled few days together. Next week, all of my kids are gone, so we'll have to entertain ourselves for a few days! We're gonna also try and get away to R.I. in the next few weeks. We want to check out the Calvary Chapel there. The pastor already emailed me back and is friends with our pastor here. He's looking forward to meeting us and helping with our transition once we actually move!
I have been so busy at work with all of this grant writing. It is good to be busy but my brain was so fried Monday night after I got home!
I bought some new underwear today. Nothing exciting. Because I realized all I own now are the exciting ones and I just needed some plain old underwear for you know...*that time*. And soooo, being the ever-ready bargin hunter that I am, I found some comfy looking Hanes Her Way lowrise bikini wear at a great bargin price...however, the slightly irregular sticker kind of concerned me. Just how irregular are we talking? One thigh hole slightly smaller than the other perhaps? Or no elastic in one leg? Or how about sewn shut leg holes? This is how my mind was working after I bought the bargin wear on my drive home. Thankfully, they seem like good solid comfy underpants to me! I washed them and they came out of the wash looking regular! And they fit fine! Maybe I am slightly irregular. That thought just occured to me! Hmmmm!
Anyway, I am sure you are all on the edges of your seats with anticipation as to where this blog post is going to go. As Brian would say at a time like this, TMI, Jenn, TMI.
I'll try to redeem myself in the next paragraph.
I started work on my novel again. My hiatus was far too long. I've been reading like a mad woman for two reasons...one, because work sucks all of my creativity out of me and I needed to latch on to others' creativity and two, because Mitch doesn't read much except the Bible and I have to read for both of us since we share the same brain and all. He's actually helping me with my novel! We've been doing lots and lots of research! Ohhhhh, we are JUST SO freaking cute sometimes!!!
Lynette got into grad school! Yay! I am so happy for her!!! She of course, will be a success at whatever she does! I love you!!!
I am wearing my glasses tonight at work! I can't even remember the last time I have worn them! Mitch is going to be mad that he missed out. The poor guy actually LIKES me in them! ICK! I had the pink eye and while I am on the mend, I still have to use the medicine for today and that means I can't wear my contacts. I already told him that next year at this time, I'll have had laser surgery. He's down with that! And I'll just get some nerdy teacher glasses for the purpose of his fantasies! ;)
I'll try to blog on Friday. Have a good rest of the week everyone!

Is it even Spring? It doesn't feel like it here! Mitch says it is cold in St. Louis, too.
Not a whole lot going on. The kids and Allison and I are chilling out at the Center today and tonight. School was cancelled so I decided to go to work early and my kids came along to play with their friends. It is a nice and quiet day here. Hopefully the evening will stay the same. I finished a great book yesterday. I read it in two days. It is called Tully. Great book. Now I am reading The High Flyer by Susan Howatch.
Friday night, Allison and I have to do our Easter dinner grocery shopping and I have to buy Easter stuff for the kids, Saturday night, we have a big concert at church and Sunday morning, church and then our big dinner.
Monday I have to work, and Tuesday night I have to work and then Mitch will be here! Can't wait.
Life has been busy and I have no idea how I am finding some quiet hours to get any reading done, but thankfully, I am. I can't believe I was laying in the sun this past Sunday, reading and enjoying Spring! Hopefully this winter weather disappears as quickly as it came! If I don't talk to everyone before Easter, have a happy one!
God Bless!

I'm still having internet issues and now landline woes...a big conspiracy I tell you!
My honey is going to the Frozen Four...he is leaving today! I won't see him until next week. :( UMaine made it to the 1st round though, so that is cool.
Work is work. Sorry to hear about the car accident Erin. That isn't fun.
I took the kids rollerblading/roller skating last Monday and had a blast. I've been running 3 miles for the last 4 days. I doubt I'll get to my run today because it is raining and I don't want to get my new sneakers yucky. It is mud season in these here parts, so I'll be gym-bound all week, I think.
Tonight, I am going tanning and then going to visit with my grandmother for a bit. Tomorrow night, I work at the center and then I am going grocery shopping. Friday is payday! Yippee. I also have to pay bills...booooooo! I have church on Wednesday night and a concert at church Saturday night. Easter Sunday, I have church and then my little family's very own traditional Easter dinner. This is the one holiday in which the kids and I stay home and enjoy each other. I may have my grandmother over this year and I've invited Allison as well. We're having lamb and ham steaks. Baked sweet potatoes, stuffing, stuffed celery, deviled eggs, red mashed potatoes, toasted baguettes with balsamic vinegar and olive oil with melted fresh mozzerella cheese and sliced grape tomatoes...one of the kids favorite appetizers like EVER. Some Merlot and some sparkling apple cider for the kiddos. We'll rent some movies and probably end up playing our favorite video games...DDR, American Idol and Guitar Hero II.
I think I am going home early. It is a rainy day. I have to run to the kids' pediatrician's office to get some vaccination info for the high school.
I hope everyone is doing well. I'll blog more when I get a chance.

I'm Still Here!
SOOOO, I am having major issuses with my landline AND with my internet at home and with my internet at work...it is really a major conspiracy to keep the (wo)man down...thankfully my laptop is Po-to-bull...
Not a whole lot has changed in the last 9 days. I am writing a grant. I am job hunting. I am still with the most adorable and amazing man EVER!
I had a conference last week. Fun catching up with Chelsey, Stacey, and Kassie. We got some lattes after the conference and hung out for some girl chat. They wanted the dish on Mitch. I was so happy to oblige! Stacey is having a sex toy party in a few weeks. I've been invited. Should be funny, to say the least. I am sure I'll have a few funny stories to blog about.
I finally sent Erin my measurements for my best man dress. 35 1/2, 27, 35...almost a ten inch difference between my ass/hips and my waist...I feel pretty oh so pretty...actually I just feel fat. Ah well, I am getting old. I will be 35 in July. That is just crazy. I can't believe I am so old. At least Mitch and I are the same age, so we're getting old together.
Okay, I must get back to work. I am 5 minutes late from my lunch break. I hope everyone is living, laughing and loving!!!
God Bless!!!

Saturday Afternoon
I had a nice two days in Portland. We spent some time in Old Orchard. It was nice to spend a sunny, 60-degree afternoon in March, hugging each other on the beach, looking out at the waves. I wish I was doing that right now actually. We dined at DeMillo's...pretty much Portland's MOST expensive restaurant...I got the broiled scallops and Mitch got some steak. We hung out at Re-Ra's after making out for a bit on the East Promenade. We had done some shopping earlier in Freeport and in South Portland.
Today, I am just getting back from taking Shannon to a job interview and dropping Hayley off at Allison's and getting my latte. I'm kind of in need of another one! Lots of rain today. The river was well-below flood level before the rain, so I think we'll be okay. They are just worried about all the melting snow and ice on top of all the rain today and tonight. I don't know why they act so surprised...it isn't like we don't go through this EVERY stinking year. Snow and ice melts, we have warm days and nights, and lots of those little things called April Showers...and pre-April showers...more often referred to as March showers.
Anyway, I have books to read and grants to write. I applied for a teaching job in Rhode Island. They emailed and said they'd call when they were ready to interview. This could be a long process. I believe they are hiring for this fall, which is perfect timing for my schedule. I've already looked into starting my home daycare. Not too hard, but they did say it is usually a 2-3 month process. With a license, I can have 6 kids in my house, which is $1800 a week and I still get $500 a week in child support for another 2 years. I will be doing that while we're going through the little bit longer process of licensing an off-site daycare center. With two teachers in my house, we can be licensed for 12 kids, which is $3600 a week...even if I took 70% of the profit, since it is MY house and my house insurance and my responsibility for relicensure, my co-teacher would still be making $1080 per week. Mitch emailed the realtor yesterday and there is a house we absolutely love, but it might not still be available when we need it...it is a 5 bedroom cape on like 5 acres of land...I don't want land, but Mitch does. So anyway, it is a gorgeous house. Even if we don't get that one, we let the realtor know that we're looking and we'll be needing something by July/August.
I'm also in the process of trying to save $1000 a month. Not hard if I cut out my shopping! =) If I can save that much a month, and counting what I already have saved, I'll have $6200, including my stipend I'll receive when my contract runs out. That should give us plenty of money for moving and enough for a month or two, until we're in a position to start saving again. Things should be easier anyway, once we combine bills. We're currently paying two rents, two cables, two cell phones, my house phone, my utilities, blah blah blah...so we won't need all of that.
Anyway, I am just thinking aloud. I like the idea that I can take care of all of this financially even without Mitch's help. I know that bugs him. He wants to feel useful. And he is.
So the rest is in the Lord's hands. I trust He'll find us the perfect house in the perfect location and I can teach full-time until the I get licensed for a home daycare and then of course, I'll be working from home. Kayla will be 18 next year. I'm pretty sure she'd like to be my co-teacher and making $1000 a week, until we get the center open. My hope is that she will assume directorship of the daycare once she graduates from college with her degree in Early Childhood Education. I'll just be the owner and working on my doctorate at that point.
For my Christian friends, please pray that I always remember where my help comes from and ultimately, who is in charge. I have been given so many wonderful gifts, it is very important for me to remember not to love the gifts more than the Giver!
Grace and peace everyone!

I can not wait until tomorrow. Portland and Freeport bound. Some fun in the hotel and then home for work Thursday night.
I slept in this morning. That was great. Mitch called and woke me up and I was like, WTF? But then he was like, "Jenn, it is after 9!" We were both out by like 11 last night. I guess I needed the 10 hours of sleep. I feel super today! Lots of energy again. Shannon and I got our lattes, ran to the grocery store, went tanning. I worked out a little, took a nice shower and packed my clothes for tomorrow and Thursday.
Last Wednesday we played racquetball. Of course, Mitch won all three matches. Not by a lot, but fair and square. He knows better than to "let" me win. On Thursday, we had a great day. After working at the center, I treated all of us to some dessert at Governor's. Mitch, Kayal and Zach had me in stitches for most of the evening. On the way home, as Mitch was dropping us off, he goes, "Don't forget your racquets in the back." And so my 12 year old son pipes up, "DID YOU JUST TELL HER SHE HAS A NICE RACK??? GEEZ, I AM STILL IN THE CAR!!!" Mitch and I about died from laughter. Kayla was laughing so hard, she couldn't undo her seatbelt and just laughed until she almost passed out. After, we asked Zach to kindly grab the RACQUETS from behind the seat and to bring them in the house because I was going to take a few minutes to say goodbye privately...so Zach grabs the racquets and proceeds to tell Mitch not to "do anything I wouldn't do." AND then a few minutes into our goodbye, Zach actually took Sierra out to pee, which is funny because not only does Zach hardly ever take the dog out, it is NEVER at night! He was being cute, though.
Anyway, that is pretty much the news from here. Work is work. I can't wait until August. My hair is looking pretty great today. I got some new jeans and a couple of shirts, and a very nice Abercrombie wool sweater from Allison that I LOVE! They fit perfect! Mitch will be thanking her after tomorrow! =)
Hi ho, hi ho, it is off to work I go! Catch yall later!

It is Sunday. The kids, Allison and I slept in until 11 AM!!! Two kids are still sleeping. Hayley and Shannon.
I bought them American Idol for their PS2 Friday night, after I dropped them off at Great Skates. They've played with that most of the weekend.
Yesterday Debi and I met in town for coffee, errands and lunch at Happy China.
Work has been a nightmare, but I am hopeful that will be changing soon. In the big scheme of things, it doesn't really matter anyway because we'll be in Rhode Island before you know it!
God is good.

Wednesday
Mitch and I are playing some racquetball today. I can't wait. I haven't played for awhile. It will be fun to visit with everyone at the gym. I saw Dianne when I was skiing a few weekends ago, and I see David more frequently than the others, but other than that, I don't really see anyone anymore. I do see Scott most mornings at Ampersand's. Scott played some soccer with Mitch in college and he now coaches the women's soccer team at UMaine.
I already tanned and got my latte. Just waiting for my ride! =)

The Last...
...few freezing cold days are today, tomorrow and Thursday. It'll warm up again this weekend and be warm all next week. However, I still have to make it thru the next few days! At least, I'll have some company for two of them!
We're playing some racquetball tomorrow. Which reminds me, I have to go to the gym today and sign out the court.
I am in the slow process of getting things ready for my move. I did the Christmas stuff and my bedroom last night. I threw out a ton of stuff that I could have probably made some good money on if I had had a yard sale, but I just wanted it out. It is so liberating to throw it out. I am going thru my linen closet next. I really don't need more than 2 sets of sheets for every bed. The extra bedspreads are going to go. The old curtains, gone too.
I got some reports done yesterday. I have a few more to work on today and then I will be all caught up.
I have to run and get my latte. Go tanning and pick up some stuff at the grocery store. I also have to make an appointment with my eye doctor.
Next week is Portland. Two days of shopping pleasure for me. I have a few things I want to pick up in Freeport.

Weird weather we're having. Bright and sunny today. Any snow from yesterday is melting quickly! YAY!
I'm sitting here with a lazy doggy by my side. Zach is outside playing in the snow. Hayley is knitting. Kayla is taking a shower.

Happy Snow Day!!!
The storm is definitely most officially currently underway! I left work early to avoid the heaviest snowfall. I headed to the grocery store and apparently not only do people drive retarded during snowstorms, they also can't handle driving shopping carts either! There is an understood rule at our grocery store about one way shopping traffic. You start out on the right at the produce and deli area, then proceed to the left and walk up and down each aisle accordingly. I don't do well with haphazard cart driving and going in both directions with people racing around the store grabbing illogical snowstorm items...unfortunately for moi, I had to do my regular grocery shopping anyway, so I had to endure. I usually save my big grocery trips for the night, just because I can't stand being around a lot of people in a grocery store setting. It increases my anxiety and makes me cranky.
But, I am home now with a freshly stocked fridge and pantry. The kids are enjoying their snow day. I am making chicken and dumplings for supper and sliced toasted baguettes drizzled with olive oil, sliced roma tomatoes and melted fresh motz cheese with some basil for our snacking pleasure.
I'm in for the rest of the day and night. Going to ride out the storm in style. Movies, books, video games, pajamas, snacks and some hot cocoa. I should only have to go out to move my truck for my plow guy. He'll probaby come once tonight and clean up the driveway tomorrow.
Yesterday, I got my nails filled and repolished. I got my hair washed, trimmed, blown dry and styled, went tanning and did a little shopping.
I plan on taking the kids roller skating tomorrow night. Maybe some Sunday skiing, but chances are, we'll save the skiing for next Saturday.

Not alot to blog about...that is a good thing! =)
Mitch will be here around 5ish...he'll meet up with me at the center. I will hopefully be able to catch up with David and Karen after we leave the center. Zach wants Madison to go roller skating with us Friday night. And if Zach gets to bring Madison, then I get to bring Bailey!!! Mitch was friends with David. They went to high school together. Actually David was in Mitch's brother's class, so a few years older. Anyways...
I went tanning, paid some bills, got my drink, worked out and am now just waiting for the kids to get home and then off to work I go. I am doing some laundry and trying to ignore the fact that the living room could be straightened up.

I am so tired today. I think the craziness of this weekend is finally catching up to me. The kids and I are thoroughly addicted to Dance Dance Revolution. I use the work-out mode and it saves how many calories you've burned and how many miles you've danced.
I have no idea what we're going to have for supper. I think I am going to take the kids out to eat. Tonight is the first night with all of them back. Plus we haven't celebrated Kayla's birthday yet. Or better yet, maybe we'll order in and I'll just go to bed early.
My doggy is so happy to have her family all home again. She is resting comfortably in peaceful bliss.
I hope Iona is having a wonderful time in Florida.

Private No More
I couldn't handle the massive amount of email requests I had for permission to read my blog. Unfortnately to stop the one person I don't want reading about my life and my children's lives, I had to block all of you. So thank you to everyone who reads and replies and cares about my little piece of the world. Mitch and I are calling it the Great Blog Debacle of 2007!
Soooooo anyway, to catch everyone up, the kids and I are healthy and great! Mitch and I took Kayla to my sister's in CT and she's been there all week. She comes back today. Zach has been with his gram and Hayley was with my brother and sister-inb-law all week until she quit! So she came back to me Thursday night.
We went roller skating Friday night. 6-11 PM! Quite the work-out! Skiing yesterday 10-4! Another work-out! And then last night, we had a dance off at the house playing Dance Dance Revolution! The kids can't beat me!!! I LOVE this game! Not too bad for an old lady like me!!! =)
I have lots of cute pics to post, so I will probably get to that today at some point. Missed you all!!!

Happy 16th Everyone!
I hope everyone had a fabulous Valentine's Day! Mine was the best ever. I got my Dooney & Bourke purse! And a lovely rose topaz and diamond ring to match my pink nails that he was a doll to sit thru, patiently holding my bags and jacket! I got more flowers and chocolates and a dancing frog that sings "You're Unbelievable". A beautiful card that was just amazing. Dinner out and a movie. Just a romantic night all around. We agreed it was the perfedt 1st Valentine's ever because the greatest gift we agreed was each other! Awwwwwww!!!
He loved his iPod. And his book. And his card.
He loved meeting Carl and Iona. Next week, I think we're gonna try to get to Ellsworth to visit Lynette. Her dad passed away this week and my heart is just breaking for her. Mitch and I were going to the wake on Valentine's night. He was so sweet about it. "Jenn, if you need to be there, then let's just go." So we got there, but because of the bad storm, it looked like it may have been postponed. Lynette would have been driving from Ellsworth with the baby, so it didn't surprise me.
Since we were in town, we decided to try the movies and see if they were open...they were and we saw Music and Lyrics with Hugh Grant and Drew Barrymore.
Zachie leaves today for the week. He is excited about spending the week with his grandparent's. He and I had a long talk and he asked if I would stop making him feel guilty about being excited about spending vacations away. Not what I was TRYING to do, I made sure he knew that. When I say, "Zach, I am going to miss you and I wish we had some vacations together," that is me being honest and not trying to make him feel guilty, but it DOES make him feel that way and so I will just keep those thoughts to myself, I guess. I love that he loves spending time with his grandmother. I know how much she loves him. it's just that he's going to be 13 in May. I am grateful he's been as huggy as he's been but I do know the teenage years will hit soon and I'll be lucky to get an occasional hug. I'm not ready for my baby to grow up and not need me. Okay..I need to change the subject...this one makes me sad.
Hayley will be at my brother's all week, helping out with the kids. She'll have a blast. She helps me out so much around the house. I miss her alot when she's not here. She is definitely the strength of the house. Zach is the comedy. Kayla is the sanity and Hayley is the muscle. When we got to the center last night, Mitch went out to shovel off the walkway and Hayley immediately grabbed the other shovel without being asked and went out to clean off the ramp and the steps. I didn't realize how much I draw from all three of them and their important roles in this family. When something needs to get done, Hayley has the attitude, "So we'll get it done. Not a problem." When I may over-readt about something, Kayla is like, "Why don't you try to look at things this way, Mom" and when I need a laugh or even when I don't need a laugh, I have Zach...constant with the jokes. And Mitch embodies all of those traits as well. I am so blessed.
Okay, I have to get to work. It is Friday and I'll be at the office with Carl and Iona!!! I'm sure good times will be had!

I am SOOOO Excited!!!
Okay, I can't wait! I am all done shopping for Valentine's Day! I promised not to write about his BIG gift because I really want that one to be a surprise for him...but I will share the surprise that I am most proud of...I got him a signed copy of a book authored by his favorite high school English teacher...it was not easy tracking down this book and even more difficult getting it signed! But I know he will appreciate the sentimental value of this because we were just talking about this man and how he affected each of our lives and Mitch said, "We should probably go visit him sometime. I'd like to track him down."
Yes, I am great! =)

Today is the calm before the storm. We could get a LOT of snow tomorrow and Thursday. We're hoping the worst of it happens tomorrow night, which it is looking like what will happen, so we'll be all cozied up together with neither of us driving.
I have a few errands to do today. Tanning and my latte are among those! I also have to run and pick up someone's V-Day present. I can't say what it is yet in case he is snooping! =) He'll find out tomorrow!!! I already know what I am getting! He was like, "You've known all along, haven't you?" I can't help it!
Allison and I are going to Sara's cheering competition on Saturday. That should be fun. We'll go out to eat after.
I am so ready for spring! Tanya said this weekend, it is supposed to be in the 60's in Oregon! That is so not fair. I want to sit in the sun and open up all of my windows and can you believe March will be here in 2 weeks? Next week, the kids are on vacation. I have a 3 day weekend. Yay! Zach will be with his grandparents all week. Hayley will be with my brother and sister-in-law all week, helping out with their two kids, and so it'll just be Kayla and I and Shannon, of course. I'll probably take a day off from work and go skiing with the girls.
Kayla's birthday is the 24th. She will be 18 next year! One down, two to go! Hayley will be 18 in 2 years and Zach will be 18 in 5! The good news about having my children young in life is that I've had the energy to enjoy them and I am still young enough to have some kind of life before I get too old. Teaching 8th grade and owning the preschool will definitely keep me young at heart, even when I am older. Plus I'll have plenty of time to work on my doctorate in English and then be an English professor where I will finish out my days. I'll also have time to write more! Not just blog but actually write and submit articles like I used to!
Life is so good and all praise goes to God.
Current Mood: I am still very very happy! And excited about tomorrow!!!

Sunday
I am watching The Night Listener right now. Cody and Lexi spent the night last night. Lexi slept with Auntie Jenn, which meant I had NO ROOM and NO COVERS!!! She played with the stuffed bear and stuffed dog that Mitch bought me a few weeks ago. One under each arm.
I have church tonight. I am looking forward to it. I had such a fun lunch with Debi yesterday.
I slept in this morning and Mitch called to wish me a good morning. Lexi and I had a date to get my latte. We went to the grocery store after and ran a few errands. She is going to a Rick Charette and the Bubble Gum Band concert this afternoon. She is super excited. My house is finally clean and I am going to kick back for a few hours before I have to leave to get Allison for church.
I can't wait until Valentine's Day! =) We are going to have so much fun.

Lunch with Debi was a blast...as always! I am so glad we had a chance to hang out. We definitely needed to reconnect, spending a couple hours talking over lunch.
I am waiting for my handsome man to call.
I discovered that I can choose what posts to make public and which ones to make private...and I can let my friends read the private ones...so I may be doing that in the near future. Basically, I think what will show up on the blog are the benign ones about my life and the ones that won't will be the juicy ones about my personal life and will only be able to be viewed by my friends and Mitch and I. Apparently the memo about me being able to SEE the location of every computer that logs onto my page via my site meter wasn't clear.
Anyway, that was my day. I bought some new books and a new keychain. Talked to Andrea for a bit on the phone. Now I am going to read and wait for my call! =)

We had a great "weekend"! Mitch left about 6:30 tonight. He went to the center with me for a few hours, after we picked up Zach at school. He and Zach went to Airport Mall for a little bit and talked about sports and "stuff." Lindsey thought he was great and said that we look cute together!
Church last night was great. Ken will have something to say on Sunday, I am sure! =) So pretty much Mitch has met all my friends. Except for Eric and Erin. We spent about an hour on campus and he showed me where he used to live and I took him to where I used to live. He met Lori and Katherine and even Jim.
We were shopping in Abercrombie and the girl came up to us and was like, "So are you guys excited about spring break?" and I was like, "Ummmm...yeah, we would be if we were still in college!" I know we look young, but I think we DO look older than college students! Anyway, it was another romantic-filled two days. Valentine's Day is next Wednesday! I can't wait. Yesterday he gave me a picture frame with our Bob Seger tickets mounted in it! Awwwwwwww! So so so sweet! And another box of I Luv U chocolates because Zach ate the last one. He wrote on it, "Do Not Eat...Not even the I." because "I" was the letter Zach started with because Mitch told him he could eat the "I"...
Saturday, Debi and I are going shopping and out to lunch. She has been working a lot of hours and it will be good spend some time together.
Okay, I am going to get my jammies on and settle in. I should be getting a phone call around 9!

I think I am going to blog twice today! Remember when I used to be able to blog a couple of times a day?
Not enough hours in the day!!! Things should be busy at the center tonight. I'm looking forward to it. I don't know how many of my own children will be working with me tonight. I went grocery shopping today, so they may opt to stay home and eat all the food! I made some more yummy chex mix for them while they were in school. It'll be all gone by tomorrow, I am sure. They love that stuff and it only takes about 10 mintues. Anything for my babies! It is fun doing stuff for them because they appreciate it.
Movie night last night was great! As always! Mitch and I watched Dogma. I've seen it a million times. One of my favorites, for two reasons...one, because it is funny, and two because I was raised Catholic.
Tanning of course was so totally relaxing. I am officially dark again after taking 3 months off. Kayla's new package doesn't start until Friday! She's anxious to start and get ready for our April vacation. She is one of those people that is DARK after like 3 visits. She is absolutely gorgeous, with her blond naturally curly hair (which she spends a ton of time straightening) her blue eyes and dark skin.
Tonight after work, I have to go back to the grocery store to get all the items I forgot when I was there, I have to run to the pet store to buy Sierra's dog food. It's expensive but well worth it because she'll live longer and because it is healthier, she isn't as hungry as often, and she absorbs more of it...the vet said that pretty much buying a bag of grocery store food is the equivilent of taking my kids to McDonald's for every meal.
Okay, I have to go get my children. Last night, my almost 13 year old son said, "Do you know the song Cherry Pie?"
Me: Yes, Zach.
Zach: Did you know that it really isn't about Cherry Pie?

Happy Birthday Darren!
Myspace is being a dink this morning, so thank goodness Alexander Graham Bell is more reliable...messenger too! We didn't want to miss our morning chat! Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!
It is my brother's birthday today! Love you! The kids and I will probably take him and my niece Gabby to dinner Saturday.
Almost latte time. Sierra and I would be going for our morning jog if it wasn't so dang cold! She's napping on my feet like usual.
I have to straighten things up around here. Go tanning. Go grocery shopping. Pick up the kids. Go to work for a few hours. Come home to my nightly phone call.
Ooooohohhhhhh...I get to wear my new shoes/sneakers/boots today...I can't decide which pair I'll wear! I bought new Nikes to run in, some awesome new black leather high-heeled boots and some new shoes that are just regular shoes. I think I'll wear the sneakers today...break them in a little. I went shopping last night. Can you tell? =)

Amazed!
I was reading over some posts from even as early back as December and I was still in my little Brian bubble! All of that so pales in comparison to what lies in my future!
Me & Bailey
This is my favorite pic of Bailey and her Jennifer. It was the day after Easter and she wanted her picture taken with Sammi's new Easter bunny...only she wanted it to look like she was SLEEPING...I think her grin gives her away! =) Bailey and stealth are not synonymous! She also has a maniacal giggle that gives us away everytime during flashlight hide and seek!
Bailey & Baxter
When I brought Bailey's new kitten to the preschool to give her! Look at Baxter's smiling face!!! Bailey was SO excited on this day. There was no way she was taking a nap!!!
Happy Sunday!
I woke up in a pretty great mood today. The kids have had a nice weekend kicking back around the house. We haven't done that for awhile. We're always on the go and so it is nice to just sit around and play video games and watch movies. Shannon and Andrew are trying to beat Guitar Hero II along with Zach, Kayla, Hayley and myself. I think my fingers are going to be permanently damaged after this weekend! It reminds me of a few years ago, when Shannon and Desaraye were both living here and we had a Grand Theft Auto weekend. The kids refused to let me play after driving with me to go get my coffee. Let's just say the game encourages road rage!
Yesterday, I spent some of the day reading my Bible. I hate to admit that I've been veering off my reading schedule, but I got back on track yesterday. And yes, I have read it in its entirety, but I like to be in the Word at least a little each day, to keep me off of any emotional roller coasters that may come my way! It keeps me grounded and reminded about what is most important. Being a good and available mom for my children, spending time with the Lord and of course, working on my new relationship with Mitch and maintaining the ones I have with my friends. The rest of the story isn't so important. That is all in the Lord's hands. Finances, work, the *Plan* when my contract runs out in August...it will all work out.
It was so funny last night. I spent most of the day figuring out how I was going to tell him that I am missing being at church on Wednesday nights and I didn't even have to! He started the conversation out asking if we could go to church Wednesday night. I don't know why I was surprised. Mitch seems to know what I am thinking, when I am thinking it. We are so very lucky and we both know it.
Today is laundry day! I washed the bathroom floor. Hayley did the dishes. Last night, while I was on the phone, Zach finished up his video game that he played ALL DAY LONG and lit my candles, made me a cup of tea and left me to relax, with a "Night, Mom"...then when I got off the phone at about 10:30, Shannon, Zach and Hayley couldn't resist coming down to battle it out with Guitar Hero again! I don't know how they are going to get thru school tomorrow!!! Kayla stayed in her room most of the day, reading! She read two books yesterday. She finished My Sister's Keeper, that I wanted her to read, and then read another whole one in just that one day! She was mad about how My Sister's Keeper ended! I was too, after I had read it!
I have a sleepy dog curled up next to me! Her birthday is next month! My baby is going to be 4! She is such a perfect dog. Of course, a very well-trained dog IS a perfect dog! Nothing ruins a dog more than one that isn't managed. I am so proud of her! She even lets the cats eat out of her dog dish WITH her! Such a sweet disposition and she is just so happy to have a mommy that loves her to pieces. She does growl whenever the phone rings and it's Mitch. She'll move off of the couch and go sit on the love seat and whine LOUDLY when she hears his voice! He was like, "Is that the dog?" YUP! And she only does that when he calls! Way too funny!

A pretty lazy Saturday today. Zach and his best friend Dakota have been playing video games for most of the day. I went next door for a bit and visited with my neighbors. I also pimped my myspace again. Now I am going to do some laundry and continue to relax, I guess. Maybe go take a hot bubble bath!
I can't wait until Wednesday! =)

I Know!
I know I haven't blogged since Tuesday! Erin, my last blog was about your blog regarding Ricia! LOL! Too funny! Mitch and I died laughing about that! And you're right Eric, the more you think about it, the funnier it gets! =)
So I went shopping tonight. Spent way too much money on video games for Zachie! Like $220 worth! But he had a blast tonight playing them! And I am "like the coolest Mom EVER!" according to Zach attack.
It is snowing now. I just heard the snowplow.
Bob Seger was great! Worcester was great! We had so much fun and found a new way to score great seats! We moved into better ones and every time the guy with the flashlight came to check everyone's tickets, I was like, "Kiss me!" and so the guy never came to check our tickets because we'd be making out! Then when he was off getting me a glass of wine, flashlight guy came over and asked to see everyone's tickets and of course, Mitch had mine in his pocket with him, and the guy just looked at me and smiled and never asked to see my ticket! =) We got to sit there the entire concert! It was officially the greatest concert ever! He bought me the sweetest daisies again! Awwwwww! And some I Luv U chocolates! It was a fun two days.
Lots of fun and exciting details that I may share with blogworld at a later date when this blog isn't so very popular!
I am also Eric and Erin's Best Man in their upcoming wedding! I am so excited! Hopefully we'll get a chance to discuss things tomorrow when I come visit you guys...depending on the weather! I'm not sure how much snow we were getting.
Nothing else to report! I have reports to write for the lovely gov't job that I hold in my free moments this weekend because the internet has been compromised at work. Not sure but it has been *fixed* like 3 times...the city needs to employ some better techs if this is the best we can do. I HAVE to get the reports done...it would be nice to do that while at work!
I had a great talk with Lindsey at work last night and today talked most of the day with Jamie. We had lots to talk about! =) I am soooooo happy!
Okay, time for bed. Busy day tomorrow, I am sure. And a very very very important phone call tomorrow afternoon and again tomorrow night! Free cellphone minutes on the weekends! Yay!
